Some good bouts last night, some more rubish computer scoring but thats Amateur Boxing!

Final line up & Predictions

Light Flyweight 48 kg
(ENG) D LANGLEY Vs (NAM) J UUTONI

Langley should take gold, coming off a great win over the hot prospect Welshman M Nasir. Uutoni is a bit of a banger and can catch Langley if he comes in cold. But Langley will out work him over the 4 rounds.

(Langley PTS)

Flyweight 51 kg
(ENG) D BROADHURST Vs (RSA) J CHAUKE

Broadhurst should also take Gold from the South African, but both boxers are fast, who ever gets into the lead by round 2 will take the gold.

(Broadhurst PTS)

Bantamweight 54 kg
(MRI) L JULIE Vs (IND) A KUMAR

The younger Indian A Kumar has the greater experience at International level to beat Julie.

(Kumar PTS)

Featherweight 57 kg
(ENG) S Smith Vs (PAK) L MEHRULLAH

Smith has the power to stop Mehrullah, catching him will be the problem. Mehrullah will be to fast for Smith outworking him to take the Gold.

(Mehrullah PTS)

Lightweight 60 kg
(MRI) G FRONTIN Vs (ENG) F GAVIN

Frankie Gavin Englands Golden Boy should have no problem with Frontin, putting the pressure on early to force the stoppage to take Gold.

(Gavin RSCOS)

Light Welterweight 64 kg
(LES) M KOPO Vs (ENG) J RUSSAN

Kopo will cause all kinds of problems for the English Man who likes to box under many names, Russan and Kopo are both fast with some power. It Will come down to who wants it the most. I just edge Kopo for Gold.

(Kopo PTS)

Welterweight 69 kg
(RSA) B MWELASE Vs (IND) VIJENDER

Mwelase the South African has the better power but will have his work cut out to outwork India's Vijender who wont stop throwing punches. Can go either way, but i will go with Vijender for Gold.

(Vijender PTS)

Middleweight 75 kg
(CAN) A STEVENSON Vs (AUS) J FLETCHER

Pressure on Stevenson against home boxer Fletcher. Fletcher will win using the crowd, while Canada's Stevenson lands while Computer Judging fails to score.

(Fletcher PTS) With a little help!

Light Heavyweight 81 kg
(NGR) A OLALEHIN Vs (SCO) K ANDERSON

Olalehin wont withstand the power from Scotlands Kevin Anderson. Olalehin will come on srong in the 1st round and remain on the back foot untill the Scot catches him and its all over.

(Anderson KO)

Heavyweight 91 kg
(IND) H SINGH Vs (AUS) B PITT

Scoring wont do Singh any favours against the Australian, so Singh will be looking for the stoppage. Pitt will use the ring throwing long shots that score while not wanting to get in a tare up with the Indian. Pitt to win by using the ring, Singh blown out by the end after constant chasing.

(Pitt PTS)

Super Heavyweight +91 kg
(WAL) K EVANS Vs (ENG) D PRICE

This should be a cracking fight that wont go the 4 rounds. Both boxers have great power, it comes down to has the stronger chin.
Price could outjab Evans and win by points but will forget his boxing and go in for a tare up that Evans will win.

(Evans Stoppage)

Good picks-Gavin looks sensational which means he will probably lose. This is a great tournament, not world class, but competitive,I Loved the Price/Johnson fight and the Nasir/Langley one.The Indians have a cuban coach and does it not show,if these type of coaches worked in Britain We could do well.Every final is close to call which is great,no Rigos or Kindelans where you know the results.Disappointed with Perkins/Nasir/Degale/Danny Price, they should do better, but great for Cox,Smith,Evans,Langley, they have stepped up.but I am British.

From what i've seen, i think the standard has been weak to be honest. A long way off World or European championship level.
I agree about the Cuban coach, however.
Apart from some of the English boxers (Gavin, DeGale, Cox – Perkins has looked sluggish), who has been outstanding? in the whole tournament there's very few who would win a medal in a major competition.

I fancy Langley, Smith, Cox and Gavin to win gold. :TU:
