Re: Suggestions for BoxRec

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
I am the manager of Tommy Hughes who just defeated Chris Chatman on May 18th via MD after 8 rounds but on both boxers page its labeled as a 6 round fight. If theres a way we can get that updated please let me know. Thanks
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Why is Shumenov listed as the WBA Champion, now that he receded again, also counting he was the regular one while Lebedev is still the real WBA super (now out of recession)?
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
So the latest major update to the site (that I know of) brought all kinds of little issues to the watch list that irk me to no end, but can we at least get the empty W-L-D column fixed? Maybe?

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
I have a question.
Why is that the case that boxrec always seem to miss majority of scheduled undercard fights on Top Rank cards?
I'm curious about the reasoning. I know that this week for example, You have Guido Vianello, Sonny Conto - and Andy Vences fights Albert Bell - and boxrec doesn't have any of those fights up on the card... seems like they're not added until weigh-ins.
When it comes to fight-cards of other big promoters - like PBC, Eddie Hearn or allegedly - You guys have all the fights including deep undercards early, but not with Top Rank.
I'd appriciate answer to satisfy my curiosity

Top Rank enter the bouts into the system but keep them hiddenMastrangelos wrote: ↑14 Jun 2019, 10:23 I have a question.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Nope, it's a pain in the arse for the editors. The system will now reveal any hidden bouts three days prior to the event.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
i heard ppl speculate that its because top rank wants ppl reading there own website and press work etc to see what fights are coming, instead of just coming straight to boxrec w/o going through other top rank stuff

You could just use Top Rank website. It’s not bad at all.Mastrangelos wrote: ↑14 Jun 2019, 10:23 I have a question.

Yeah, I could - but I love boxrec mostly
...plus I'm a curious person.
Thanks to everyone who answered!
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
..quick question: is it technically possible
to integrate a spell-checker? would be very helpful...

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
A sub-forum mythical fights would be good (ie. Tyson vs Marciano) as the 'Boxing History' forum is 99% full of these fantasy fights.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Many people would like to this. A thread was started on the Boxing History thread about this. It could be like the Classic American West Coast Boxing thing. There are no fewer than 15 fantasy fights on the first page of the Boxing History forum right now. Those that are tired of the constant Fantasy matches (and that is probably the great majority) could just ignore one thread instead of 15.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Would it be possible to have a "sticky" thread i.e. one that permanently retains its place near the top of the forum menu page purely for notifying very recent fights that are now available to watch on YouTube (preferably with a link to a version that doesn't give away the result in the video description).
Needless to say on this thread it should be taboo to mention the result. How many times have I watched a fight already knowing the result because I stumbled upon someone's post before I found the video?![[icon_twisted.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
I guess this was suggested already, but just in case...
I'd love one could see the rankings of all weight classes and p4p as they were AT ANY POINT IN TIME. Say you wanted to see who were the greatest welterweights by june of 93... You just select the weight, month and year and there you have it!!! That would be super interesting info to see and it's probably not super difficult thing to implement, I'd assume.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Here's another suggestion: A filter by star count for upcoming fights. I'd love to see what fights are up in the next few months but only the 4-5 star fights instead of every single fight in the world!
