Anyone seen Adelaide Byrd?
Re: Round-by-Round: WBSS 1/2 Finals; Briedis vs. Glowacki / Dorticos vs. Tabiti - 15 June 2019
Outrageous shambles of a round. Blatant elbow from Briedis. Bell ringing for well over 10 seconds after end of round 2 not heard by incompetent Robert Byrd.

This time she luckily affected nothing.

Byrd is a good ref. But he’s gotten old.
He tried keeping it clean, but the bell ringing for so long. I thinking in my head, is that the legit bell.

That was a stitch up. That elbow was worthy of a dq. It rocked Glowacki. The ref should step in as the bell sounds. What a cock Byrd is.

Johnny Nelson criticising Glowacki’s reaction to a disqualification offence by Briedis?!?!!

The guys a bellend. Adam booth is talking sense that was worthy of a dq. Nelson is comparing the play acting to football but this was genuinely hurtful. There will be furore.

Referee was diabolical - one of the worst I’ve seen.
Still think Briedis can count himself lucky not to be DQ’d for that.

Stunning KO from Dorticos, no way was Tabiti getting up from a shot like that, the right hand just detonated right in the chin, I had Dorticos ahead in the fight, Tabiti started off looking sharp, moving and countering but Dorticos just kept pressuring him, he didn't try to hide the fact he was trying to take off Tabiti's head with that big right hand, Tabiti done a good job of ducking under them early on but it got messy and Dorticos started to break Tabiti down,, Tabiti really should've been trying to stand his ground a bit more as his legs were tiring and he was getting clipped but he didn't have it in him to step up, he did land a couple of nice combinations but he should've been more consistent with his attacks
I thought Dorticos landed some nice shots downstairs as well, although it looked as if he was getting closer with the right, still a bit of a shocker when it landed,

Should have been a DQ but I did think Glowacki overreacted to the elbow. He took harder shots and didnt drop.ShadrachSimmo wrote: ↑15 Jun 2019, 17:51 The guys a bellend. Thought Tabiti’s tank started to empty from about 5 onwards - movement/sharpness went and Dorticos started to look more confident and walking straight at him like he knew he was tired.handsofstone wrote: ↑15 Jun 2019, 20:08 Stunning KO from Dorticos, no way was Tabiti getting up from a shot like that, the right hand just detonated right in the chin, I had Dorticos ahead in the fight, Tabiti started off looking sharp, moving and countering but Dorticos just kept pressuring him, he didn't try to hide the fact he was trying to take off Tabiti's head with that big right hand, Tabiti done a good job of ducking under them early on but it got messy and Dorticos started to break Tabiti down,, Tabiti really should've been trying to stand his ground a bit more as his legs were tiring and he was getting clipped but he didn't have it in him to step up, he did land a couple of nice combinations but he should've been more consistent with his attacks

Tabiti definitely didn’t look like 12 round fighter stamina wise.

He did overreact no need to go down on all fours. Not that Byrd gave a sh1t. You get 5 mins for an accidental or deliberate low blow but get told to get on with it after a deliberate elbow to the mush

Yeah was a bit mad. The whole thing was really, entertaining tho :lol:jShadrachSimmo wrote: ↑16 Jun 2019, 05:34 He did overreact no need to go down on all fours. Not that Byrd gave a sh1t. Imagine getting arrested by Breidis, you'd have no chance of getting off with anything.

The ref made an absolute tit of the Briedis/Glowacki fight, Briedis should've had at least 1 point off for the elbow, gets nothing and instead the ref demands Glowacki get up despite being hurt, then Briedis drops Glowacki twice while he's still reeling, right hands doing the real damage, the second knockdown came 10 seconds after the bell went, I can see the ref fail to heasr the bel which is fair enough but he you could see him realise a few seconds before Glowacki went down a second time but he was too late to get in to separate them and Glowacki paid the price
Glowacki was still dazed coming out for the 3rd and another right hand had him down a third time, I feel for him, Robert Bird had a mare or several mares even

He should have given Glo more time to recover. But Glo tried to act on the canvas which came through quite clearly. It’s annoying when a boxer over acts and maybe trying to get another boxer DQ’d.

That was a bit mad, no idea how ref didn’t hear the bell clanging for 10 seconds, crowd was in an uproar at that point though, maybe he’s going deaf.
Though I thought him waving Glowacki up after the elbow was right thing to do, or the Pole might have made even more a meal of it, as was prob hoping for a DSQ. it was nasty, but not enough to drop him like that. Crazy chaos but entertaining.

Fair dos regarding the point but we don't know how bad Glowacki was hurt, that was a clean elbow across the chin, getting caught like that from a punch is one of the worst ways to get tagged, Glowacki has always been tough, maybe he was too braveRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Jun 2019, 07:17 He DID take a point from him.

Sweet KO win for Dorticos, Tabiti looked awkward but was tiring and looked only a matter of time before Dorticos timed him.
Briedis vs Glowacki was mental. The elbow got a deserved point deduction, but Glowacki should have been given a minute to recover. Though he did overact a bit.
Watching them throwing bombs at eachother while the bell was ringing was almost other worldly, I was laughing like a madman when the senial old ref actually called a knockdown about 12 seconds after the round had ended.
Glowacki and his team will have genuine grounds for an appeal, but the tournament will continue with last year's losing semifinalists both contesting the final.
Just hope they get a ref in who actually knows what day it is.
