Tony Yoka vs Alexander Dimitrenko July 13th

Post by oogiebe »

Yoka comes back from his suspension against mostly shot HW Alexander Dimitrenko on July 13th. Never thought much of Yoka and wouldn't mind seeing Dimitrenko pulling off the upset.

I can’t see past Dimitrenko losing this but the manner of the defeat will give us some sort of a reference for where Yoka is at given his recent fights against Jennings and Ruiz. Yoka’s best win so far is Dave Allen, but not the current, motivated Dave Allen...

LOL! I was waiting for your "Everyone loves Dave Allen now" annoyed post. You are hilarious! No one said it doesn't count. The poster merely made a qualifying remark that I agree with.

Looks like Dimitrenko is cashing out for retirement. His only really notable opponents in 44 fights, which took him 16 years, were against Chambers, Pulev and Parker. Now, at 36 years old, he'll have faced Jennings, Ruiz and Yoka over 11 months.

He's just realizing he's relegated to journeyman. I doubt he's making too much smack on this fight.

hes an imposing looking guy with still a nice looking record, but in reality hes a bit of a baby and there to be knocked out. this all makes him a good opponent to bring in

He missed (not failed) a couple of drug tests.

No excuses at all, just qualifying that Yoka’s best win is over a not very good version of Dave Allen...

Dimitrenko is really just everybody's punching bag at this point.

Seems like a pretty tough opponent for Yoka after coming off a year of inactivity. I wouldn't take for granted that Yoka would win, but it'd be impressive if he does.

Agreed! Dimitrenko is no worse than some of the stiffs other HW prospects are facing. I'd be surprised if he quits as shamefully as 48-year-old Ray Austin did against Ivan Dychko.

Not much a step up considering the fact, that Dimitrenko is faded. Just a relatively decent scalp.

Tony Yoka has been inactive for thirteen months, so I don't think there's anything wrong with him facing a safe opponent, such as Dimitrenko, in order to remove any ring rust.

Dimitrenko's heart isn't really in it, but Yoka will have to be on his game as Sascha has one punch KO power.

I'd be elated if Dimitrenko looks at this as an opportunity for a win and blathers Yoka. Yoka got gifts in the ams' over good pros. He's right handed crazy and doesn't do anything for me.
