Anyone know anything about Tyson Fury's older brother?

Post by seanilius »

Heard him mentioned in a few interviews, John-boy Fury, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about him? Seems a bit conspicuous by his absence seeing as none of the Fury's seem too shy around a camera.

No reason for wanting to know other than curiosity I suppose.

I'm still searching for pictures or footage of Fury-Akinwande. You'd think a match apart of the big title eliminator would be readily available but it's like trying to get an audience with the Pope.

I will say that the British press has always been over zealous. I remember a few articles that claimed Bartley Gorman fought Muhammad Ali. Quite the exaggeration. The two men met and talked and posed for pictures. Gorman in his own autobiography said it was just a chance encounter. So how a quaint story turned into some mythic brawl is anyone's guess.

When I read stuff like that written by someone claiming to be a journalist it makes me wonder about what other garbage is being passed off as fact.

For decades the British press always claimed Ali had a 5 minute break after Cooper decked him, to be fair Cooper also insisted it was true. Damn the pesky video evidence contradicting them.

funny thing is a lot still go along with it, conveniently saying the footage is edited to remove the break

Unfortunately we live in a world where people dismiss evidence and fact and believe theories and rumours

If he's anything like a traveler I used to know he'll have more siblings than he's got fingers and toes.

Unfortunately this is because many facts and experts have been proven wrong, people are much more distrustful today.
People don't know whether the mainstream media is truthful

Depends on what you mean, what has been proven to be wrong? I was more thinking of things with video and audio evidence like the Cooper vs Ali fight or the world not being flat. I take anything the media says with a pinch of salt anyway.

I think after the publi losing faith in the media, experts, facts, polls etc has lead to people willing to disbelieve anything.
Obv this starts with politics etc, but if an expect now tells us the earth is round, there will be some who would instantly distrust them.

Politics is different though because thats 'experts' trying to predict the future which no one can, so of course many 'experts' get it wrong. But when people start disputing science because Bob down the pub said it's wrong, that a different level of stupid.

Agreed, but because of how politicians have skewed the facts it has undermined people's faith in genuine facts.
And often scientific facts have a political slant.
Before the Iraq war, if we were told that we had proof that the Iranians had sunk a oil tanker, I would have believed in 100%
When this happened the other day, for me it is 50%-50%

:TU: yeah, i know it's O/T but the 'rush to judgement' on Iran in that instance and the haste with which they were 'identified' as culprits made me distinctly suspicious.

Agreed too but governments have always had an agenda, the public only get told what the government wants you to believe.
