Hard to say. While I liked Danny and despised Hamed. He was special. Definitely unique. Danny had a good beard. Hamed late stoppage and it pains me to say that.

I'd take Hamed, maybe even by a tko. However, I wouldn't be shocked if Lopez drilled him cold.

I'm inclined to pick Lopez. I can see Hamed dropping him, beating him up, getting him bloodied early but Lopez was tough as hell plus he's about 6 or 7 inches taller, with better balance and I think once he got past the first few rounds he could use that height and start timing and hurting Hamed enough to maybe take him out or at least enough to make him too timid to be effective.
Re: Featherweights : Naseem Hamed vs. Danny Lopez
Lopez's problem is that he can be hit, and he was the sort that liked to mix it up.
Never worked once against Naseem. Not sure any jaw of that weight class stands up to him.
He has to be finessed, or you are not going to have a good night. MAB stayed out of his way, much more than he did for Morales, who was not exactly feather fisted. MAB was nothing if not smart, and that's the only way to beat Hamed. You have to rely on the upper part of your noggin, cuz the lower part of your noggin' will always fail in this case.

A past his prime Kelly Kelly dropped him multiple times. Never understood what the fuss was about this guy. He had a good punch and was a hot dog. Not much more than that.

I think "good punch" may be a wee bit of a misunderestimation. Hot Dog, for sure. And if you paid attention, he was overly athletic and flexible, which went a long way to compensate for his lack of fundamentals. Barrera was a wizard at fundamentals, and he treated the fella with a "good punch" pretty gingerly. Almost as if he was handling nuclear fuel.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑20 Jun 2019, 11:39 A past his prime Kelly Kelly dropped him multiple times. Never understood what the fuss was about this guy. And it worked quite well for him, Antonio was perhaps the smartest fighter in that weight class....he knew he had the skill to defuse the bomb.

At first glance It would be easy to lean heavily toward Naz just from his obvious attributes of accuracy and power paired with Danny’s tendency’ to be a bit of a goalkeeper at times. Also naz who beat Robinson was extremely elusive. However Danny was a big feather, strong, game, hard and correct punching and despite the ko losses ( to Sanchez and chacon) to hof’s, had a great chin... Danny put his punches together extremely well and was as good a finisher as naz. Real pick um fight .. heart says Lopez head says hamed

It's really sad Hamed got away with that illegal shot against Kelley. It totally changed the outcome of the fight.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑20 Jun 2019, 11:39 A past his prime Kelly Kelly dropped him multiple times. Never understood what the fuss was about this guy. Kelley had scored 2 knockdowns against Hamed, slipped in the corner on his way to scoring another KD, and Hamed punched him with all he had when Kelley was down.
