While a great fighter, Aaron Pryor would not match up well with Thomas Hearns or Sugar Ray Leonard. Besides being truly great fighters, both Hearns and Leonard were too big for Pryor.

When you say “not match up well” I assume you’re choosing to ignore the win in the amateurs against a certain Thomas Hearns?

Thomas Hearns was not scoring that many knockouts in the amateurs. It certainly was a far different story in the pros. A lightweight or a junior welterweight did not belong in the ring with an extremely tall welterweight like Hearns in the pros, especially when you consider the fact that Hearns was one of the most devastating punchers during his era.
