Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
I know this fight is on Fox in the States. Do we know who is picking it up over here? Good fight. Freddie Roach saying this week he’s going to have a lumpy bet on Pac Man.
Re: Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
Not confirmed as I am aware but I would expect it to be on ITV 4.
May watch this live as I think Pacquaio will win.

ITV4.
There is a small, and very small chance Sky would pick it up. But there is no reason they will.
Only reason they picked up Wilder-Breazeale is because Sky are building AJ-Wilder.
The only Wilder fight they havent shown recently was Wilder-Fury.
I very much also doubt ITV will bump it on ppv.

Re: Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
it's insane that Pacquiao is an underdog. If Thurman tries to fight he'll get stopped. Fully expect him to run though with Pac landing more eye-catching stuff to take the dec.
Re: Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
but thurman is young and fit. ... if pac wins, will they be lining him up against crawford and spence? ... would a prime pac beat crawford and spence?
Re: Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
Pac won't fight Crawford because he doesn't deal with Arum anymore. He might fight Spence then call it a day.
At this stage i think both Spence and Crawford would have too much in the rank for Pacman, but neither would hang with the 09 pac imo.
Re: Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
I think the money will come on Manny and the odds will completely change in fight week. You could probably place some clever bets to give yourself a win/win.
Re: Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
I wouldn't have a lumpy bet on Pacquiao fighting anybody at this point. Not saying he can't win, but I wouldn't bet on it with any sorta confidence.

Because Pacquiao has stopped so many fighters in the past 10 years?
Thurman will come to fight. He won't try to outbox the smart Pacquiao. He'll use his greater strength and power to wear down the aging fighter.
It's what you do with old guys who always hate a fast, physical pace.

He wouldn't fight Crawford when he was with arum. Horrible match up for him.

The only fast pace Thurman would push is sprinting away from Spence.

But against an elite welter, I expect those years to show.
Remember that 2 years ago, a fairly green Horn really abused Pacquiao physically. Horn used his strength and youth to bull Pacquiao around the ring and bust him up. And Thurman is certainly a much superior fighter technically than Horn.
If Thurman waits on Pacquiao and tries to win a boxing match, he might have trouble. But if he turns tiger and attempts to use his greater physical strength to overwhelm Pacquiao, then he should shine.
Pacquiao at 40 wants a slow paced chess match. Thurman needs to make him work 3 minutes a round until he's exhausted.
I think Thurman will.

When was the last time Thurman worked 3 minutes of every round?
Unless I'm missing something he has literally never done that. He gets backed up by fighters like Collazo FFS

Re: Pacquiao V Thurman UK TV
Valid point. It's weird, a few years ago I would have favoured Thurman strongly. I thought him, spence and brook were the 3 at the weight. He has looked vulenrable for a while though. However he adapts and has shown heart and ring IQ to navigate his way through fights. But getting walked back by like......his last 6 opponents or so at some stage. He can drop the 1 punch moniker, that myth is gone.
I think Thurman's movment gives him fits in what could really be a boring fight, we're Thurman shades a lot of rounds, and pac wins maybe 4 obviously and claims he thought he won at the end.

No, Thurman isn't going to work 3 minutes every round. Few fighters do.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑29 Jun 2019, 09:16 When was the last time Thurman worked 3 minutes of every round?

I exaggerated to make a point that it behooves Thurman to use pressure and be busy enough to wear an old Pacquiao down.
Thurman would make a mistake giving a 40 year old fighter a slow pace. Pacquiao can still win fights where he gets to choose his spots and rest in between.
But pressure is never to the liking of an old guy. The stamina is hardly the same at 40 as it was at 30.
Thurman has suggested that he's going to come out bombing and take it to Pacquiao.
That should be his mindset. No rest for Pacquiao. See to it that a fatigued Manny's legs are leaden by the late rounds.

Fair play mate can't dispute that logic I rate Thurman very highly looking forward to purchase this "PPV" bout haha!SenorPipino wrote: ↑29 Jun 2019, 08:40 Pac is in fine shape for 40.

Thurman isn't really a "fighter" he likes to get up on his toes and box and move and occasionally wing in big, wide punches.SenorPipino wrote: ↑29 Jun 2019, 00:07 Because Pacquiao has stopped so many fighters in the past 10 years?
