Do you seriously think I was only discussing Briedis' elbow? "You're being a little ridiculous" if you think I was.

Have you forgotten the other fouls he committed? Briedis’ misconduct wasn’t merely an “eye for an eye" act of vengeance.

As I stated earlier in this thread, Briedis retaliated to Glowacki's rabbit punch by committing the following intentional fouls:

• Throwing an elbow to the face, which was seen by the ref
• Mairis threw his own rabbit punch to Glowacki’s head, which led to the first legitimate knockdown
• Briedis clearly heard the bell, but continued punching anyway, which led to Glowacki being decked for the second time nine seconds after the round had ended

Briedis admitted (during post-fight interviews) to intentionally fighting dirty and that his deliberate Muay Thai elbow strike was thrown out of sheer anger.

He also clearly admitted to hearing the bell, but continued punching anyway and then laughed about his own actions.

There's nothing “ridiculous” about anything I’ve written, because my words accurately reflect reality! You cannot possibly refute that! It’s not even open to debate!

Please watch the video, read my words again and then detail any inaccuracies?

I look forward to you retracting your criticism of my thoughts. :TU:

I only read the first few pages of comments, then gave up, because it's too much to go through. But I didn't see anyone even mentioning the 10-second clap. I didn't heard the 10-second clap before that round's end, and I'm not sure if there was one (or if there was, but it was drowned out). It's understandable that Byrd may not have been expecting to hear the bell at round's end if he wasn't primed to listen for it via the standard 10-second clap. There was also plenty of noise coming from the audience to disguise the bell. Even so, Byrd is clearly deaf.

I saw some comments claiming that Byrd must be corrupt, because he didn't end the round on time. Honestly, that's a f*cking stupid theory. If you're corrupt, and you're in someone's pocket, then you're not going to exert your influence by letting a round go long. That's not how to be a corrupt referee. That's not one of the 20 or so valid ways to give a particular fighter an advantage. What, was he trying to give Briedis an advantage by letting the round go over? If so, then how come it seemed like Glowacki was the first fighter to keep fighting after the bell? Are Byrd and Glowacki both conspiring to keep the action going after the bell so that they can give Briedis an advantage? Come on guys, don't be stupid. The round went over because Byrd is deaf, not because he's corrupt.

Also, why the f*ck is anyone complaining that there is a cornerman in the ring like f*cking 10 seconds AFTER the bell? That's... WHAT THEY ALWAYS DO. Bell rings, they enter the ring. Plus, someone needed to inform the referee that the bell had been ringing like a f*cking train for 10 seconds, and they couldn't possibly ring it any louder, and Byrd still had no idea.

Apparently that type of discussion is debated calmy and logically in the alternative universe known as 'off topic'

There’s a rulebook that everyone has to follow.

Which he was penalized for.

It didn't lead to the knockdown, he was already on his way down. And it pretty clearly wasn't intentionally a rabbit punch. The punch glanced off Glowacki's shoulder and then landed behind the ear. I'm not even sure it actually landed in an illegal area.
• Briedis clearly heard the bell, but continued punching anyway, which led to Glowacki being decked for the second time nine seconds after the round had ended
Neither man stopped fighting when the bell sounded.

Glowacki contiuned to fight after the bell because he was half conscious and the bell was ringing in his head all the time.

what's so surprising? is the fact that Głowacki was half conscious after this powerful elbow punch strange?

Briedis confirmed that he did heard the bell. Yes he was the villain in this fight.

Yes and he said that he heard noise/squeak in his head after the elbow punch (it was very unexpected punch that he didn't seen and wasn't ready for), he does not remember the 3rd round. His chin hurt him still days after the fight. day after the fight he was unable to open the mouth wide and to talk without the ache. He doesn't blame Briedis but he asks him for rematch, even after the WBSS final.

that's because Głowacki didn't things that should make him DQ, while Briedis (and his team) did.

No. The ref did a poor job. Briedis and his team didn't deserve a DQ. Get over it. Briedis is just better.

Luckily he has you to blabber for him 24/7. If they have a rematch I hope breidis walks out of his corner and elbows him in the jaw just to hurt your feelings. There won't be a rematch. Breidis will move up after the final.
