Probably this will be the last time I ever watch this so-called sport. I think it's only legal in a couple of states.

Malignaggi didn't run too bad. What he did do badly, though, was defend against the left cross. This fight was defined by Lobov consistently landing the left cross, and Malignaggi landing the left hook almost as consistently. Both fighters got fairly bloodied-up. Really disappointing that Malignaggi couldn't avoid even 20% of the left crosses that were thrown at him.

paulie actually took a good deal of shots in pro boxing too. but ppl called him slick etc just cus since he had 0 power you assuemd he must be to make it that far. but even a guy like pablo cano was busting him up at times

its actually quite amazing he accomplished as much as he did in boxing. im still not totally sure how tbh

What he’s good at (imo) is fast back stepping, he doesn’t have slick head movement, he’s a one dimensional back stepper like Amit khan but obviously without khans other gifts. That’s basically what I saw tonight, one step forward, couple steps back, rinse and repeat but no punches thrown except for a weak counter jab. Ridiculous effort.

With all of his excuses and dismissals, he needs to seriously get the hell over himself. He's become the whiniest bitch in boxing ever since McGregor and tonight proved the Irishman did whoop Paulie's ass. Malignaggi, once a respectable figure in the sport, has become the Zelenoff of the pros.

"I only got hit clean once"

"I hit Artem with everything"

"The judges robbed me"

"I'm 38 years old"

"I broke my hands"

Remember when you told McGregor to not lose his balls against Mayweather? Where the hell was yours Paulie?

The fight was poo. Both did almost nothing. Paulie could at least jab more to win Lobov.

I scored first 3 rounds for PM and the final 2 for AL.

Pauline broke his hand in round 2..

Nothing really happened in the fight. Round 5 was the most boring round. Just about scored it for AL.

Paulie Malignaggi won the fight 49-47, winning the first three rounds, with the fifth even (though there’s a decent argument for the ex pro boxer stealing that round due to the use of his jab).

Malignaggi was deprived of his victory to allow the BKFC to boast about their so-called “credibility”, due to pro gloved boxers “not being good enough” to beat their guys.

.

I didn't see this "event" but your score seems pretty much in line with what many media reports had it. 3-2 either way with most siding with Malignaggi.

It seems at odds with the frequent view here that Malignaggi did nothing and was never in the fight.

Lobov was swinging and missing a lot.

Of course Paulie boxed far better than Lobov, but they also count "dirty" boxing in BKB, so...

..I didn't realise bare knuckle fighting can be so boring..if the whole purpose was to keep potential fans away from it, they successfully achieved it...btw, glad the clown lost..

Apparently the old case of giving a fighter too much credit for being aggressive. Even if he's ineffective.

Also, it seems like it almost guarantees constant hand injuries if you really try to hurt your opponent. Is it beneficial to do knuckle conditioning in this sport ?

It is beneficial to know how to punch with bare knuckles and properly wrap your wrists / hands accordingly.

Nothing can fully compensate for weak bones.

I think history with repeat itself here. Gloves were introduced for a reason, to make fights more exciting.

With bare Knuckle the fists become blades and even light punches can open nasty wounds. Also broken bones in hands are frequent. I think people will tire of bkb.

It'll be interesting to see if some of the veterans of this stuff start going back to them old techniques of like neck punches and stuff. If it sticks around that is.

But yeah I tend to be of your thinking that it ain't gonna last too terribly long.

i enjoyed it tbh. you just have to accept that its not boxing as we know it. certain styles wont work as well , etc. that itself will add a bit of intrigue for a bit at least with cross discipline matchups. for the most part the fights were fun and moved fast

Considering bareknuckle fighting was around since time immemorial until 1889, and has still existed in pockets ever since, I disagree with you on the notion it'll go away. Even if American and British audiences grew tired Southeast Asia and other locales do bareknuckle Thai fighting, so it'd be considered normal practice there. Everything goes in cycles, no matter the sport.

It's an ugly thing and it was and illegal for a reason. I think it's only legal in a couple of states now. I think it shouldn't be, but like I said as a civilization becomes more decadent the sports become more violent. Give the canon fodders sports and circuses to amuse themselves with while their world goes to hell.
