In a pronouncement with a lot of 'whereas' terms, the WBO announced that USYK is now the WBO Mandatory HW challenger. I fear that we are heading to a further splintering of the HW title.

As I know, there is a rule (not sure written or no) when a champion moves up, he will be the mandatory in the new weight division, automatically. BTW,there was a thread here, several months ago.
Anyway, I doubt that Usyk will utilize his mandatory status right now.

So, I predict he will be the new HW champion by the end of 2020, except he faces Fury.

its a standard thing the wbo does, if the champ at one division moves up he can get a shot right away at the next division, they have this written out in there rules and didnt just create it, im surprised ppl act surprised .

I just didn't think they'd do it before the Ruiz/AJ rematch. Seems they could've waited, especially with Usyk being hurt.

its a rule theyve had for a while, a champ moving up can get a shot straight away if they want, not sure they really place any restriction on it based on other fights, after all its mandatory to a belt not a fighter
