Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith (168), who wins ?
This fight will happen, sooner or later, likely on December this year. What do you predict ?
Re: Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith (168), who wins ?
Rumor has it Alvarez is moving up to Cruiserweight and will face Kovalev.

I think Smith is too big for Alvarez. It's a step too far. Can't see Golden Boy pursuing this one too hard.

Canelo will win, because he’s better.

I got Smith winning by KO, Smith a a great fighter and Canelo size disadvantage too much for him to over come..I would love to see this fight. I think it would be career ending for Canelo the way he would get KO'd would send him on a real downward trajectory.
Callum Smith is one of the best unknown fighters in the world...

I don't know is Smith is of Irish origin. If yes -it might be an extremely lucrative fight.

I don’t really rate smith much at all. The fact he is that much bigger may be a riddle of sorts for Alvarez but he’s significantly better than smith. Just more body to attack too.

Re: Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith (168), who wins ?
Golovkin's been known to walk around at 168, whereas Smith must be 180+. So while this jump from MW to SMW is 8lb on paper for Canelo, in reality it's more like a +15 jump. And Smith's height and reach advantage is significant.
If Canelo can find Smith to the body he can stop him, otherwise I think it's Smith all the way. He could get careless and walk onto a looping shot, but I don't think he's the type to lack focus against top opponents.

I doubt Smith can take body shots well. The question is if he is fast enough to counter Canelo when he is going to the body.

One thing is for sure, in the event it does go ahead they will be wanting a rehydration clause

But if you don't like Canelo, then you prefer to hide behind some bogus "judges are corrupt" conspiracy alibi rather than acknowledge his world class skills.
It makes life easier for you.

Is Canelo a great champion ? Yes, absolutely !SenorPipino wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 14:05 But if you don't like Canelo, then you prefer to hide behind some bogus "judges are corrupt" conspiracy alibi rather than acknowledge his world class skills.

Did the majority of the judges/referees support him ? Yes, absolutely !
So, I like Canelo very much, and despise the corrupted judges/referees in the same time.
Re: Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith (168), who wins ?
He's both highly skilled, and protected by judges. He's skilled enough to at least make every fight he's in competitive enough that it doesn't appear to be an outright robbery to the public, and he legitimately wins a great deal of the time, but he's got a safety net other boxers don't.SenorPipino wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 14:05 But if you don't like Canelo, then you prefer to hide behind some bogus "judges are corrupt" conspiracy alibi rather than acknowledge his world class skills.

Once again, conspiracy stuff.
When anyone on this planet can produce documentation about these alleged corrupt referees/judges, I'll be very intrigued.
But so far, no one has. Just accusations. Not a whit of evidence offered.
And there never will be. They used to say the same rubbish about Pacquiao and De La Hoya. Corruption. Cash cows. Can't lose on the cards.
Then Bradley and Trinidad came around.
Oops.
Re: Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith (168), who wins ?
It's interesting that between fights that Alvarez is built up into some wrecking machine when the reality is different.
He's stopped 4 of his last 10 opponents and 3 of those were hand picked and out of their depth.... Khan, Smith and Fielding. The other was Kirkland.

Every now and again you gotta mix up the corruption to throw people off the scent.SenorPipino wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 14:20 Once again, conspiracy stuff.

That is fu.cking normalgilgamesh wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 14:16 He's both highly skilled, and protected by judges. Chocolatito vs Cuadras a fu.cking judge scorecard it was 117-111 only gave Cuadras 3 rounds
Chocolatito vs Estrada. A fornicating judge only gave Estrada 2 rounds 118-112.
Estrada vs Viloria a judge gave the fight to Viloria when he almost was k.O'd and was outboxed and outworked
The A side is normal
Canelo won the rematch vs Golovking
Lara did not do enough to beat Canelo
Only Floyd defeated Canelo
What people said means sh.it
Most of the people does.not sh.it about boxing
They think Floyd Lost Maidana, castillo, Floyd, de la Hoya.
The hate is real with famous champions
So...

I may be stupid, but I am not blind. If you want, you can make a thread (something like : Has Canelo been protected by the judges/referees)...............SenorPipino wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 14:20 Once again, conspiracy stuff.

Canelo power is good enough to make you respect himewenhay wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 14:21 It's interesting that between fights that Alvarez is built up into some wrecking machine when the reality is different.

But canelo is an artist, a fighter with high IQ, great defense and a good counterpuncher
He is not a fighter... He is a complete and tricky boxer
Re: Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith (168), who wins ?
I thought Canelo lost both Golovkin fights. I didn't think he lost any of his other controversial bouts for the record. Though the Austin Trout one was real close.
Floyd blanked him.
Floyd blanked him.
Re: Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith (168), who wins ?
I agree he's a top class fighter but some people are pretty convinced that he'll ko Smith but Smith is a lot bigger and better than Fielding.
