Less shows? Jesus. This year has been reliant on nextgen, wbss, night US shows and two Italian cards to pad the content out.
Bad signs when Sky have to cancel an entire show because Jack effing Massey can’t fight.
Okolie fight cancelled.
Felix Cash cancelled.
Bustsi couldn’t fight.
Fitzgerald couldn’t fight.
It had already lost too much - probably made right call to cancel.
It will likely be 1 larger show a month with next gens...that way they can put all monies into 1 big card. Harsh reality is we are struggling to compete money wise with the US so it’s likely only option to keep better fights here.
This was due to be Matchroom first Saturday fight night since 20/April.
Since that show there have been 3 Matchroom USA shows, 2 Matchroom Italy shows (one not televised), 2 Nxtgen shows and a late night PPV.
There are shows scheduled in both Italy and USA, a PPV (another in the works) and even a Nxtgen. But no more Saturday fight nights are scheduled at all now.
It's a big pile of wank and I'm sure that Sky are far from happy with the status quo. God knows I am.

That’s why Sky are going to put more money into it going forward - as the fees they were paying were 3 years old and miles behind financially when trying to compete with the US.
Next Gen 2nd Aug - Liverpool.
24th US night.
30th Loma - PPV

The US shows are generally pretty good, so that is fine.
I also have no problem with Loma being PPV.
But why don't they move the Liverpool card to a Saturday and put a couple Smith brothers in competitive fights on the card? That won't exactly break the bank.
Does the JD sponsorship on Nxtgen shows cover the fighters purses or something? That may explain why we are seeing so many.

Loma v Campbell isn't a PPV fight but it needs PPV money to bring Loma here so we I can accept it
