Re: Gorman Dubois Prediction Poll
Watched a little bit of 'em both in action against a common opponent recently to try to get a feel for who I think will win this. I came away thinking Gorman had better movement, more fluidity, and more all around skill.
Dubois is the bigger puncher, but it takes more than just power to keep winning at a high level. I think Gorman will outbox him.

Re: Gorman Dubois Prediction Poll
based on those showings vs big raz i see big dan walking through big nate
Re: Gorman Dubois Prediction Poll
I mean I won't argue. I know very little about Gorman. It's just the feeling I got off the bit of footage I watched. More fluidity to his movement to me. It'll be an interesting test for both fighters whatever the case.
Re: Gorman Dubois Prediction Poll
I'm not going to read much into the Cojanu fights or the sparring stories.
I just have a feeling that Gorman has the style to outbox Dubois comfortably.
Dubois has a punchers chance, but can be very plodding and prdictable. Gorman is no Tyson Fury, but has decent movement for a big man and won't be taking any kind of unnecessary risks.
I can see it being a bit of a snore fest tbh.

Yeah it wasn't so much how they handled Cojanu that I was paying attention to when watching those. I was just watching their styles, and trying to envision how it'd play out if they were fighting each other instead of Cojanu.keirw wrote: ↑09 Jul 2019, 08:40 I'm not going to read much into the Cojanu fights or the sparring stories.

I can see it being tedious too as there's a lot at stake here for both fighters, so they won't wanna make any costly mistakes.

Whilst I agree with you re; Gorman being able to outbox DD, I don't see it being a snorefest.keirw wrote: ↑09 Jul 2019, 08:40 I'm not going to read much into the Cojanu fights or the sparring stories.

How can it be, when DD is such a dangerous puncher (at this level) and could score a "blink and you will miss it" knockout?
And on the flip side, as Gil so succinctly put it, Gorman is such a fluid fighter, deceptively so?
Re: Gorman Dubois Prediction Poll
I hope I am wrong but I can kind of envision a scenario where Dubois struggles to land anything clean for rounds on end and Gorman pops out just enough jabs and one twos to win the rounds.KiwiRider wrote: ↑09 Jul 2019, 17:21Whilst I agree with you re; Gorman being able to outbox DD, I don't see it being a snorefest.keirw wrote: ↑09 Jul 2019, 08:40 I'm not going to read much into the Cojanu fights or the sparring stories.

I can see it being a frustrating night for Dubois as his best chance is to turn it into a war (if he succeeds we could be in for a treat) but Gorman will do all he can to avoid that and will be more than happy to win a solid but uninspiring decision.

Me too, seems bizarre. Like the prefight attitudes towards haye/Macc and cleverly/kovalev. I’d be surprised if DD didn’t stop him inside 7.
I don’t see these silky skills for Gorman, looks like just another plodder. Dubois is dynamic and powerful and will dispatch Gorman.
Re: Gorman Dubois Prediction Poll
I don't think this fight ends in ko for some reason.

Re: Gorman Dubois Prediction Poll
Gone for Dubois by stoppage, as a hunch really. He coped with some bombs last time out, so I think he can take Gormans power, and likely probably gets outboxed by him. BUT he will likely be able to land on Nathan, and as far as I am aware I don't think we have seen Gorman really take shots?
Good, interesting match up though and is the fight I am most looking forward to over a stacked weekend of action.

I'd bet my life on Gorman winning this by stoppage without ever looking in any danger.

Sorry Keith ! I actually thought POV had a good chance in that one too and he would have done a lot better without wlads octopus impression being allowed to run wild .
All this Gorman support reminds me a lot of that very strange Frankie Gavin hyping a few years ago, where sub par performances mysteriously became a predictor for future success for many people.

IMO DDD looks like a knockout defeat waiting to happened. He looked terrible in his last fight and was hurt more than once. Gorman is accurate and throws good combinations (I said that about Povetkin). I cannot for the life of me see DDD winning it.

I like these polarised ones. Someone will be very right and another very wrong ! Or maybe it’s a draw
