Billy Dib: Major Decline In Amir Khan; He Only Fights For Money!

Billy Dib wouldn’t have agreed to move up two weight classes to fight an elite welterweight.

The former IBF featherweight champion just doesn’t consider Amir Khan to be that type of fighter anymore. That’s why the Australian veteran quickly agreed to replace Neeraj Goyat on short notice late last month.

The 33-year-old Dib (45-5, 26 KOs) and the 32-year-old Khan (33-5, 20 KOs) are set to meet Friday night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

“Put it this way – you’d have to offer me a ridiculous amount, well into eight figures, to step in the ring with Manny Pacquiao,” Dib stated. “But Amir Khan certainly isn’t Manny Pacquiao. Amir definitely was a great champion, a proven warrior who’s made his mark on the game. He could be a future Hall-of-Famer and in time, I hope the boxing world will fully appreciate his skill set.

“But in the past few years, there’s been a major decline. A lot of chinks have emerged. He’s no longer the fighter who schooled the likes of Devon Alexander and Marcos Maidana. Today he’s fighting for different reasons … money!”

Dib will make his welterweight debut against Khan, who has fought at 147 pounds or higher for the past five years.

“For the first time in my boxing career, I’ve not needed to worry about my weight,” Dib said. “I’ll be far stronger, more thickset and hopefully carry my speed up, cuz I’m quick, too.

“Everybody knows I’m a quality body puncher and I’ll be bringing even more strength and power. I’ll definitely test Khan. I really fancy my chances.”

This is the most ridiculous fight and Amir should be embarrassed and he should have refused the opponent. Dib fought at 129 two fights ago, Khan 146 - 150 nowadays. They had the whole planet to find an opponent and they come up with Dib?! You'd think they would want a competitive bout for their cash, but then it is Saudi, quite keen on executions out there. Will probably cut DIbs hands off after the fight.

This fight is what it is, a farce, infact the whole card is farcical but if Khan wants to make a bit of money then go for it, the only reason he got the world title fights against Alvarez and Crawford is because he's a name and not much danger these days, quitting against Crawford totally reverses my opinion on his current fighting heart, he's shown plenty of heart over the years so i'll cut him some slack but he's totally money driven these days, his years of harassing Mayweather and Pacquiao was embarrassing and he's even still mentioning Manny, the ducking of Brook annoys me as well but Brook deserves all he gets TBF for the same reasons as Khan regarding Floyd/Manny

Ive not seen Dib since Farmer schooled him to win the title he was dirty that night maybe he'll try hut Khan in the breadbasket for the W?, fair enough he's been fighting at Super Feather for a few years now but not with any success, he was never the biggest Featherweight, as wreckless as Khan is he should deal with Dib with ease, if he doesn't then Khan's lot more worn than I thought

As for Fury vs Peter

I read that and thought he must have had an extensive career since then, but no, just one fight against 7-11 guy!!

It is a complete joke and I agree about Amir now fighting for money and lacking heart. That comment after Crawford was hilarious although tbf, he was probably a little concussed.

Khan: "Referee said I had five minutes"
Interviewer: "Why didn't you take the five minutes?"
Khan: "I did not know I had five minutes"

I'd rather watch myself masturbating in a full length mirror, it would probably last longer and the end would be less predictable.

I'm curious now as to what sorta flukish endings could throw off the predictable ending in the masturbating in a mirror scenario

Khan may be taller, heavier, younger, stronger and more skilled than Dib, but Dib does have a vastly inferior record to set against that.
