David Allen v David Price - July 20th
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
I guess it’s because he’d have nowhere to go after losing to Allen (which he will, I think) so he probably should call it a crossroads fight...
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
If he does lose, I think there will be some sparring work out there for him at the very least. As a very tall guy, he would be usefull to up and comers who need to prepare for facing giants. Some guys just love to fight, Price is one of them.
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
When Ali attacked around round 5 - Price did look unsteady - and he was tiring.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑04 Jul 2019, 09:26 This is intriguing to me because price hasn’t actually lost to anyone on the level of Allen and he turned in a strong performance against povetkin even in defeat.
However
He is David Price. Looked like his arse was falling out against Kash Ali!
Allen takes this past 6 rounds he’ll get Price at some point I’m sure of it - Price won’t last especially if Allen makes him work.
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
That’s a good call. I can definitely see him taking sparring work and not fighting again if he does lose, because he can definitely help other fighters prepare for a tall, rangy opponent...
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
3 round blowout. Looking forward to it.
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
Povetkin struggled against price and imo only won because of price’s dodgy chin. If povetkin put that performance in against Allen I think If Allen got through first 3/4 rounds he could stop povetkin because I think that Joshua will have aged povetkin massively. Not saying Allen will win, but the best opponent for Dave if he wants to break into top 15 is povetkin or chisora but chisora is fighting parkerKiwiRider wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 18:13Sorry Joel, but Povitkin hits way too hard and Dave is still using his face as his main form of defence.
Allen has a good chin, but it would not stand up to Povitkin's repeated flush hooks.
Chisora on an off night possibly. Even then, Del Boy is a wiley campaigner and I could see him rope-a-doping Dave until coming in for the kill.
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
price really only had that one big shot vs pov, i dont think id say pov won that only on prices chin
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
You guys should re watch the Ortiz fight. That was my introduction to Allen. He was totally outclassed. I din't put him on my to watch list
There is levels to this stuff and I think Allen is one below Price. Price by KO.

Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
i dont rate allen at all either, but price is the exact type of guy at this level for him to have a good chance of beating. allens best attribute by far is his chin, and being able to stay in there with price goes a long way
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
That was then- Allen wasn't a full time boxer. Look at his last outing when he has actually had the time to do a proper training camp.
OK, he still has a long way to go defensively, everyone accepts that, but we are seeing a better Dave Allen in 2019 than in the past.

Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
Price won't beat Allen at this stage of his career
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
That was Luis Ortiz who’s fighting Deontay Wilder again - this is David Price who panics/gasses and can get KO’d at anytime - massive difference in levels your comparing.
Even watch Kash Ali before all the biting - he wobbles Price around Round 5 and he looks to panic and start wobbling,
Allen stays in here he’ll get him late for durability alone.
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
... and then whalloped Ali so hard that Kash quit via chomping. Price won almost of every second of that fight.Even watch Kash Ali before all the biting - he wobbles Price around Round 5 and he looks to panic and start wobbling,

I agree and agree about the punch too (there was a hard body shot I remember). Shook Ali so much he quit. But Price did look really panicky at one point and Allen is better than Ali
Re: David Allen v David Price - July 20th
There’s a difference walloping Kash Ali who had beaten 1 man with a winning record.
The point still stand Price did look all over the place when Ali attacked - he didn’t like being under fire and immediately looked vulnerable.
Allen for his failings has been in with Ortiz/Whyte/Yoka - he can take a shot.

Just look at the difference in Allen that devoting himself full time to boxing has made!

This isn't the the guy we used to know even last year.
He is getting a lot of help in training now and look out Pricie!

It wouldn't let me post an individual photo so I had to post the article link. i wonder if being in better shape will teach him how to block a punch or be not slow or cut off the ring
