Both men fouled, Briedis was just better at it. Glowacki always has a chance against Briedis in a conventional boxing match, but in a fight there is only one winner.
If there is a rematch Briedis will find it easy to drag him into a fight, now that there is plenty of bad blood between the pair.
Briedis-Glowacki should be NC, yes or no ?

A rabbit punch is a blow to the back of the head or to the base of the skull.[1] It is considered especially dangerous because it can damage the cervical vertebrae and subsequently the spinal cord, which may lead to serious and irreparable spinal cord injury. A rabbit punch can also detach the victim's brain from the brain stem,[citation needed] which can kill instantly.

If Breidis had simply fired that elbow apropos of nothing I'm sure the referee would've been harsher on him, but he referee has eyes, and saw that Glowacki had JUST cracked him full force in the back of the head. Now while that doesn't justify the Elbow 100% exactly, it makes it at the very least understandable why that would be your gut reaction.Heretic wrote: ↑12 Jul 2019, 07:50We have a new boxing rule. I disagree. He did it. He got a point deducted, and he went on to win the fight. I'd say he did the right thing.
The rule was enforced that you can't elbow a guy. He had a point deducted for it, and I'm sure would've been DQ'ed if it had happened again. If your opponent wants to make it dirty, defend yourself because the referee ain't doing it for you.
If somebody came at you with intent to kill, would you defend yourself or would you stand there waiting for the Cops to show up and handle it because that's what you're supposed to do, even though they're nowhere to be found?
Drastic example, but the same principle applies. Sometimes you gotta take sh*t into your own hands because the world don't give you no alternative.
You can also kick once to the balls but that's gonna cost you two points. Better make it count.
One wrestling throw will also only cost one point. Maybe none if it increases the number of PPV buys.
Sounds effing ridiculous![]()
Elbow strikes are forbidden in boxing and done by the way Briedis did it clearly no accidental. When it results in hard knock down it should be automatic DQ.
What is your ques what would have happened if Mcgregor pulled that stunt on Mayweather?
There is very real possibility that the foul decided the whole match. It is definitely something that I don't want to see ever again in boxing ring.
You f*ckers are all too soft to be Boxing fans. It's a fight. If you wanna watch a dance contest where everybody is being goody goody I'm sure the Disney Channel has something for ya.

I respect the rules too. I'm not calling for every fight to be a goddamn savage brawl where anything goes. All I'm saying is that when somebody bends the rules blatantly, and hits you full force with a foul...do what it takes to protect yourself. In this world things don't always go as planned, and people don't always follow the rules. When somebody breaks 'em, and you're the one they're breaking 'em on, you just gonna stand there going "Hey ref help me please" or are you gonna crack the f*cking guy back with something hard and make him think twice about doing that sh*t again?
Your call.
I'd be the guy that cracked him back, and put his ass in check, and I respect that action more too.
Guys that spend whole fights "Hey ref, that was low".."Hey ref, that was in the back of the head"..."Hey ref...help"...that sh*t annoys me. Just handle your business. You're the fighter.

at the same time, Briedis was fouling him as well. btw, this punch landed more on the neck than it did on the back of the head. it was a foul of course though. i blame the referee for fućking up this fight. and Briedis is an idiot who is proud of what he did, he's not a sportsman at all.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑12 Jul 2019, 11:58You should be watching street fights then, as your beloved Pole threw a rabbit punch which could cripple his opponent.dagilechia wrote: ↑12 Jul 2019, 11:53 it's a boxing fight, if i would like to watch elbow punches i would watch muay thai

no wonder why there are no consequences in boxing for blatant and systematical robberies, scandals and double standards if even some of the boxing fans accept this

its like if someone taken the ball in the hands and scored a goal in a football match and said ''this bastard fućking fouled me!'' and the referee would accept it and this goal would count, he would just show the yellow card for that. later, he would let the match last 110 minutes to let them score again.

Hell I liked Glowacki before. This thread is making me enjoy that elbow to his jaw more every time I see it, and I can't wait for the rematch when Breidis stomps his ass again so you can cry some more.
If the fight had been EXACTLY the same except for it were Breidis who'd hit him in the back of the head while Glowacki responded with an elbow, an then went on to win you wouldn't have said a goddamn word would you? At any rate you certainly wouldn't STILL be talking about it. That's for 100% certain.

you mean the rule that a round lasts 3 minutes or the rule, that fighters team members can't enter the ring before the round is stopped by the ref or that a fighter hurt by an illegal punch is given up to 5 minutes to recover?gilgamesh wrote: ↑12 Jul 2019, 12:11A POINT WAS DEDUCTED.
