Joyce does have something in common with Jennings: they're both no-hopers.

Joyce is already finished and he hasn't really started the tough fights. He can't even challenge the challengers.

I see most here picked the fight wrong. Not surprising as follow-the-leader is where fools fall.

most on here are Brits. my prediction was: a snoozefest, Joyce wins but proves that he is, as you said, a no hopersturm vogel wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 18:14 I see most here picked the fight wrong. Not surprising as follow-the-leader is where fools fall.

Let us try to be realistic - Joyce might be on Chisora's level. No less, no more.............

i was drinking with my friend and watching that fight, he fell asleep in round 7 or 8, i will watch Dubois vs Gorman alone. why i always choose the wrong events when i want to introduce someone to boxing

Chisora was at least tough. Joyce was staggered by feather hitting Jennings.

you are right, anyone in the top 10 would knock him out with ease. someone like Ruiz or Kownacki would make marmelade out of him.sturm vogel wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 18:21Chisora was at least tough. Joyce was staggered by feather hitting Jennings.

I wouldn't go that far. Joyce didn't disprove his toughness in this fight. He just showed his flaws. And Jennings isn't crap either.dagilechia wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 18:29you are right, anyone in the top 10 would knock him out with ease. someone like Ruiz or Kownacki would make marmelade out of him.sturm vogel wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 18:21

I expect Dubois will defeat him.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 18:30I wouldn't go that far. Joyce didn't disprove his toughness in this fight. He just showed his flaws. And Jennings isn't crap either.dagilechia wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 18:29

I had JJ winning 117-10. I could see it going all the way down to 115-112. I see some people on my Twitter claiming Jennings was robbed of the draw with a point deduction or could have won 114-113. I'm not sure what people were watching. He just didn't let his hands go enough. 4 flashy punches a round isn't going to win a fight for you.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Bryant Jennings - July 13, 2019
Dubois beats Joyce tomorrow if they were to sign up for it.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Bryant Jennings - July 13, 2019
Really?
I’d be excited for the bout, but I would be pretty shocked if Joyce agrees to that. His crew called out Charr as their next fight.
Seems his people just want to get him in a title shot ASAP, not even messing with the regional levels.

I think this was Joyce's best performance but also established a bit of a ceiling for him. It was impressive he was able to go 12 while keeping up a good workrate against a solid pro, but I think he'll ultimately top out at the Chisora level, just outside serious world-level contendership.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Bryant Jennings - July 13, 2019
Fair points. Considering Jennings was his best opponent it's not crazy to call this his best performance. Good thing he didn't tangle with Michael Hunter.jujigatame wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 22:42 I think this was Joyce's best performance but also established a bit of a ceiling for him. Yea considering how many shots he took against a completely washed up Stiverne, I thought Joyce would get outboxed, but he really didn't. He kept up the pressure for all 12 rounds, threw a lot of combinations, and kept Jennings on the defensive throughout.
But Jennings is light on power and I think against someone like Whyte or maybe even Chisora, Joyce would be right up against it.

Jennings was the surprise. He hung in. Joyce could not put him away but he did prove that he could go the distance and keep the pace.

Yeah, Joyce is tough enough. Just slow as fornicate like we've both always said. He could probably absorb an elbow without pretending he was shot in the balls. He certainly wouldn't get smashed by kownacki.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 18:30I wouldn't go that far. Joyce didn't disprove his toughness in this fight. He just showed his flaws. I don't think Jennings was such a surprise. The people who thought he was gonna get blasted outta there early were always being a little ridiculous. He's been a solid pro for years and he's always in good shape.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Bryant Jennings - July 13, 2019
Joyce just outworked Jennings. Jennings did almost nothing, but didn't look hurt through that borefest.
