Dubois > Joyce
Dubois > Joyce
If I’m one of the top guys I dodge Dubois and go after Joyce, no question.
Re: Dubois > Joyce
Dubois started boxing at age 9. Joyce at 22. It really shows.

Re: Dubois > Joyce
Wow!! I had no idea, but that is believable. So even though both have been in the fight game for the same amount of time, Daniel's earlier start gives him a more stable foundation. His jab is especially effective and for all Joyce's looping, wind-up punches he really doesnt show much of a jab.

Re: Dubois > Joyce
i agree for sure, dubs defo better
but its not really an issue of taking one vs the other, they are at very different points. as good as dub is i doubt they have him pushing to a world title as quickly as jj will be

Re: Dubois > Joyce
I will say this about Joyce, to be nice. He’s come very far with heart, toughness and obviously genetics such as natural power and size. He’s also a hard worker. He however does not look ‘at home’ in the ring.

Re: Dubois > Joyce
There’s a difference between power and delivery you sod. Just like there’s a different between punching a punching bag and a moving person. Joyce has power, natural power.sturm vogel wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 21:12Is this an attempt at comedy? Won't criticize your poor English just poor observation. He just threw hundreds of punches for 12 rounds and didn't dent an aluminum can.
Please also criticise my English skills.

Why bother with him?lazboy wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 21:24There’s a difference between power and delivery you sod. Just like there’s a different between punching a punching bag and a moving person. Joyce has power, natural power.sturm vogel wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 21:12

Cheers.....ain’t nobody got time for that.
Re: Dubois > Joyce
I like his jab. He can control it. Fast and accurate. Would freeze opponents. His body work was good but I thought there was more room for it rather that the looping overhand right which he was throwing. Gorman had a high guard leaving his body exposed. Can take that criticism lightly as the overhand was clearly hitting the mark and was the punch that dropped Gorman on those two occasions. He’s very promising. Patient and controlled, with some more punch variety, some more speed on his feet. I’m a fan and will be watching. What did you think overall?
Re: Dubois > Joyce
I've never seen him look that good before. He mixed up his punches well. Worked behind the jab well. Was moving in and out more than I've seen him. Took some solid shots without blinking. If he keeps improving, he has the talent to be a force in the division in another year. I'm drooling over Ajagba vs DDD in 18 months or so.lazboy wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 21:51I like his jab. Re: Dubois > Joyce
I was being a bit harsh honestly, I agree, he was on point. We have a promising young heavyweight. Given his attitude post fight I’d say he can only improve. Great for boxing and the division.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 21:54I've never seen him look that good before. He mixed up his punches well. Worked behind the jab well. Re: Dubois > Joyce
I hope he doesn't get rushed. Gorman is good UK level, but DDD still has things to work on before stepping up too much.lazboy wrote: ↑13 Jul 2019, 22:00I was being a bit harsh honestly, I agree, he was on point. I would like to see Hrgovic vs DuBois..
Re: Dubois > Joyce
Much as I like DDD, he's not ready for Hrgovic yet. Maybe another year and four or five fights.

Re: Dubois > Joyce
He takes a punch well too. He's strong - but he looks like he's fighting underwater! I don't recall ever seeing a fighter who threw punches in slow motion like that.
