MTK Global is delighted to confirm its next visit to Brentwood will be screened live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank.

The event, which will feature leading talent and include title fights, will take place at the Brentwood Centre on July 20 and former world title challenger Liam Walsh and world-ranked welterweight Michael McKinson are already confirmed to feature

MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton said: “We’ve been really encouraged by the appetite for boxing in Essex and it’s great for the area that the big time has come knocking.

“Last time we were there, Liam wowed the crowds with a stoppage win and we’re keen to put on even more exciting fights this time around. Michael enjoyed a great win there in his last fight too and he’ll have big support travelling up from the south coast again.

“There have been some great fighters from the area down the years and in addition to bigger names at the top of the bill, we look forward to welcoming some show-stealing prospects on the undercard.

“These ESPN+ shows are already receiving praise and we are excited about raising the bar with them each time.”

News of further fights and fighters starring on the show will be published in due course.

Going to be house second for this one, looking forward to it some exciting fighters on here. The matchmaking for the MTK shows has been on the good side I think, McKinsons last one was a good fight, Mitchell Frearson having to get off the deck to earn a draw, Danny Dignum having all he could handle of Jackiewicz... if this show carries on the same trend it will be enjoyable viewing,

You can rely on MTK putting on a free Youtube show every other week.

in the era of paying twice for boxing - paying for SKY and then again for PPV's - if they can show the Helliet's, Goodwin's etc a way to show their fighters off that is financially viable, good luck to them.

I'm not privy to whether it *is* financially viable,

Pretty sure it's not financially viable and hurts the ticket sales but obviously great for those of us wanting to watch at home.

ESPN?

They have tons of other sponsors. They get manager fees from boxers?

There shows usually sell out, even though they are small arena's with tix prices between £40 and £100.

They manage big names like Fury, who earn big purses.

You might think that I couldn't possibly comment.....

Joking/sarcasm apart There was a good piece this week on the new age boxing podcast where Martin Theobald broke down the finances of small hall boxing and it is absolutely brutal even with a fighter as ticket seller model and unless I'm missing something very obvious then MTK are losing money or at the very best they are using their portion of their world champs like Fury to fund the rest of the business but I doubt even that tbh

These MTK shows are very welcome. Sadly last night's wasn't that good.

Ward boxed well as usual. I don't enjoy women's boxing unfortunately and last night's rubbish did nothing to change that. Really disappointed with Day v Adophe, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it. Day is going to get beat very soon if he can't put away an opponent who was spent after 7 rounds. In fairness, referee Jeff Hinds was very poor with handling Adolphe's constant cheating. I really don't enjoy watching Michael McKinnson. He has one of those awkward styles that rely on what his opponent brings to the table for it to be worth watching.

Agree with the summing up ..apart from criticism of day, I thought he kept his cool well under the circumstances, it's hard to put someone away who was doing the things adolphe was doing ..he was a disgrace should have been thrown out..turned up late for the weigh in couldn't win the title and his attitude after 3..4 rounds showed that !

I agree Adolphe should have either had more points deducted or been thrown out, but Day had a beaten man in front of him and seemed to just trudge after him. Better fighters than Adolphe may make him pay for that sort of lack of urgency to finish the job. Louis could still have been dangerous with is pot-shots, so Day needs to learn to close the show when the opportunity presents itself IMO.

I did enjoy Adolphe's trick of pulling his own shorts down to nick a breather.

I thought Basheel was disappointing. Can't comment on the advice given by her corner as I don't speak Malawian, but she could have at least tried to keep her shots straight and fast. She fought as if she didn't realise Cameron was winning the rounds. Again, I can't comment on what her corner was telling her about how they saw it.

I thought Khademi boxed well, be nice to see him in with the guy Sunny Edwards just beat, that would be a good marker for him. Seems he can't get a domestic fight at the moment either.

McKinson I am actually warming to, one concern I have is that while he might be able to make people respect him at this level, is that going to carry on up? He's not putting people away at this level.
