What If Jack Johnson vs Marvin Hart II?

Imo, the Jack Johnson version of the Tommy Burns, Stanley Ketchel and Jim Jeffries would batter Hart should the rematch happen with Johnson's World Heavyweight title on the line behind his jabs and counters before stopping him in 12 rounds under the 20 round bout. What do you guys think?

Marvin Hart, best of my understanding, was something of an Arturo Gatti type of fighter. Took alot of punishment to give punishment. As a result he basically was done as a fighter not too long after his encounter with Jack Johnson. So a rematch wouldn't have done him any favors as he'd of been passed his peak.

Very odd. Never a fighter I ever took much interest in but I always thought of him as a grappling sort of spoiler without much power.

But if Marvin Hart had won the re-match and re-won the HW title in 1910 doing it,( especially by KO)
most likely any Bronze statue of him erected n Louisville Kentucky would have been toppled at least a year ago.

More likely he took many, but the one that survived was the one he could sell.

Tex Rickard had great success getting by the Sims Law (anti-interstate boxing film law) with the Dempsey-Carpentier and the second Dempsey-Tunney fight. Both of which we today have pretty good copies of.

The Firpo fight on the other hand he had a difficult time getting out of State, the result being that there isn't really a good copy of the fight available.

My theory being, that the more venues that show a film, the more copies are made, the more copies made the more likely there will be a good surviving copy.

I think the same things happens with still photos. The ones that sell big back then are the ones we are lucky enough to have with us today.

Good chance there is some barn or attic with all those other Johnson-Hart pictures just sitting in an envelope; they never sold.

And what would warrant the destruction of such a statue? He couldn't have been too awful racist when he was one of the few who fought top black challengers. Any famous person, generally will have a statue or plaque in their hometown or home state.
