How much money would it take?
How much money would it take?
Everyone has a price!
You get offered a fight against a British champion level fighter at your size...
You have 12 weeks notice and you have to do your best rather than taking a knee after the first jab.
Its a non televised show

I'll pass on this
Re: How much money would it take?
Hmmm, if Everyone has a price, what is yours to be shot in the head at point blank with a 45 loaded with dum dum bullets ?
Maybe a sensible person would firmly decline both offers

Re: How much money would it take?
I would have to consider 5k and couldn't turn down 10k, 20k and PBF would have to come out of retirement
Re: How much money would it take?
Question: Do I still get paid even I get knocked out in 20 to 30 seconds?
Re: How much money would it take?
In that case. $5000
For $5000 straight cash I'd fight anybody on this Earth (in an organized Boxing match mind, not a street fight). I'm a poor guy, and it takes me months to make that much money. Also I'd honestly just be intrigued at how well I could possibly do. I would have no doubt I won't win, but I'd be curious if I could even manage any half ass decent moments or just surviving a minute or something.

How much would it cost to keep me in hospital for ages and off work

You're cheaper than me, I'd want 5000 British pounds!gilgamesh wrote: ↑16 Jul 2019, 12:41In that case. $5000

I don't know why people are so afraid of an ass whipping. Chances are pretty slim it's gonna kill ya, people act like fighting a Boxer is like fighting some sorta Robot with the power to crush your skull like an egg...no...he's just a man. Hell I've had my nose broken for free. I've had my ass kicked for free. Give me $5000 and suddenly it's a whole lot more sensible to be fighting somebody

Re: How much money would it take?
It depends really, I remember folk saying when Tyson was knocking folk out early, and his opponents were getting a few million, that they would do it for that money! Whereas realistically at that size and level there would be half a chance he would kill you.
On the other hand, if you have a bit of shape or experience, fighting someone of your own size, it just means getting bashed up!
I would need around a million to risk death! Or at least 50k!

Re: How much money would it take?
$5,000,000 to ensure my family is take care of, as I would be a CW. Maybe less if I were at a lighter weight.
Re: How much money would it take?
How many people did Tyson kill agan? Oh that's right...zero. It's a pretty minor risk. Like 2 or 3% chance. Maybe a little higher when you're talking about somebody that's never been trained, but not much.Coco wrote: ↑16 Jul 2019, 13:01 It depends really, I remember folk saying when Tyson was knocking folk out early, and his opponents were getting a few million, that they would do it for that money! Serious brain injuries usually occur when a fighter takes a sustained beating for a long while. I don't imagine any of us would be hanging around long enough for any of that.
Now I might be a little more hesitant to fight 'ol Deontay "I want a body on my record" Wilder because if ever he had a body he could put on his record
So yeah, in THAT case I'd demand a great deal more money. Or for similarly ridiculous mismatches, but the question posed was that I'd be fighting a British Champion my size.
Re: How much money would it take?
Of course, but I was talking about the average bloke in the pub who had never fought, as you said the question is British level at your weight in a 6 rounder.gilgamesh wrote: ↑16 Jul 2019, 13:12How many people did Tyson kill agan? Re: How much money would it take?
When you say ‘British champion level’ - do you mean the actual current British champion, or just someone around that level?
Cos I’d fight Hughie Fury for a lot less than I’d fight Dubois (not that I’d have any chance of winning obviously, I’m just going by the amount of damage I’d be likely to incur).
Reckon I’d fight Hughie for £20k and Dubois for £100k. If nothing else, it would force me to train properly for a few months

Yeah I imagine getting hit twice by Dubois would be worse than getting hit 25 or 30 times by HughieBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑16 Jul 2019, 13:56 When you say ‘British champion level’ - do you mean the actual current British champion, or just someone around that level?

Re: How much money would it take?
I’m already physically fit so the 12 weeks would be intensive boxing training. I walk around at 140 so maybe I’d fight at Lightweight and get paid 100k GBP...
Re: How much money would it take?
If hypothetically my employers paid me to train full time instead of working (and it didn't count as leave), I'd do it for £5k.
To change the question slightly: imagine if Dubois' next opponent got injured just before the fight, and they ask you that the night before? Then we're talking more like £15k.

Re: How much money would it take?
It would have been interesting to see what people think a British title fight at their weight pays and what they would want to do it.
