It's a piss take. It's the same with the UFC aswell now. BT sport are making certain events PPV because they're greedy bastards.

I can't think of many other countries that have broadcasters who would put on PPV events at 3/4/5 in the morning with a non UK fighter in the event.

I get it with fights like Mayweather-Mcgregor or Mayweather-Pacquaio but otherwise it's just a joke.

ITV have not been clever about this.. But then they kinda have!

it's £12.95.. Pretty decent for the fight, and the undercard is very decent..

On the night, people in the UK have a choice,

pay £19.95 for Whyte-Rivas / Allen-Price / Chisora-Szpilka

or

pay £12.95 for Pacquiao-Thurman / Plant-Lee / Lipinets-Molina / Nery-Payano
--------
Matchroom fan boys will pay the £19.95.. some/other hardcore fans will pay less to watch Pac-Thurman.
Some will have £33 spare and not be bothered and just order them both.

Some will try catching highlights the next day or so..

Then the rest will just live stream them both for free.

I wouldn't be surprised if ITV didn't really put that much thought into it, and just added a price tag to maximise profit.

I hope FreeSports don't get any funny ideas about Tommy Frank vs Josh Wale.

I like this fight, shouldn't be PPV in this country but again hey ho thanks for kodi, strange one as far as things are being perceived, Thurman taking some abuse and criticism for the Lopez performance but after being out injured for 2 years I still thought he won it wide as far as scores were concerned, he was def hurt worst in his career and had to box cautiously for the remainder of the fight but he showed some clever skills and plenty heart, still probably one of his worst showings but he still won clearly IMO

Pacquiao on the other hand getting a lot of credit for dominating Broner and rightly so, it was an easy nights work but looking deeper at things Broner is so lazy was it as grand as it appears??

Pacquiao is still a top 10 Welterweight but Thurman is top 5 maybe 3, he can box and he can fight, sure Lopez exposed some flaws defensively but I'm thinking Thurman will be sharper, more switched on this time, he's not as aggressive as he used to be coming up the ranks but he can still box a disciplined fight and I see him winning a deserved UD

In saying all that I know there's no testing so all that might be irrelevant, if Pacquiao rediscovers some of that explosiveness then it wont take Einstein to figure things out, he's a god fearing devout though so I'm sure we can trust him

Thurman points for me. If it's close he'll get the nod in Las Vegas. So Pacquiao needs a stoppage or a wide points win imo.

There used to be a time when everyone insisted that it was Pac who would always get a decision win in Las Vegas.

You know the usual, "Manny is the Bob Arum controlled cash cow who's too important in the sport to lose."

Then he lost a very debatable verdict to Bradley and those assurances evaporated.

Now you say that it's Thurman (certainly no cash cow) who has all the sway and won't lose a close one?

Times sure have changed.

If people didnt buy it then they would stop but you get idiots who buy it so they will continue to charge, remember getting gatti vs ward on bbc years ago? Because bt and sky charge for every fight that think the public have an interest in itv have jumped on it,sadly its only gonna end up one of two ways 1) we all just suck it up and buy the ones we want or 2) people will get sick to death of it and stop buying but then we will never get to see the big fights without an illegal stream. Its the promotors wanting just as much as the fighters.

I didn't see Thurman's last fight. I did think Porter edged him in their fight. But he was the considered by most as the man until his lay off. Pac lost to Horn...I didn't think it was that close either. Pac won some big rounds but anyway...

Thurman must have had an arm amputated during the lay off if people aren't making him a clear favourite.

Not sure what you see in Thurman, he's gammon. And Pacquiao clearly beat Horn in a fight that should've been stopped.

Pacman stops Thurman.
