Pacquiao did it! Even at 40 y/o proved again that he's a natural born fighter/warrior. Imo he should call it a day b/c he already achieved everything notable in boxing. He's already a HOF'er and an ATG'est. I can't imagine how competitive and full of talent was the 147 division when Pacquiao was in his prime years and how strong and fast he was then.

He's just unbelievable. In and out the ring. I always said Manny was the true throwback and not Floyd. He fought people way out of his natural weight time and again, always stepping out to find the best. What a resume. He was the greatest fighter of his era (not Floyd) regardless of the result in their fight. Also, the fact that he changes entire infrastructures of villages, and builds schools and hospitals back home make him a true living saint.

Yup, he's a true hero in boxing and outside of the ring. Pacman is a God's gift for the people.Steveh583 wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 04:43 He's just unbelievable. In and out the ring. I wan't him to retire in glory and not push it till he'd get beat by some young fighter.

Pacman is a legend indeed. I picked Thurman to edge it closely, but no, Pacman won convincingly. Pac is more, than just credible. He has nothing to lose. He can at least give a fight to Crawford and Spence. But I won't pick him over them. I'll pick him over Porter though.

Supper chuffed for Manny with last night performance! I think he should get at least one good paycheck before retiring but I’d rather he stayed clear from the same caliber opponent. At this stage every next fight could end badly for Manny so I don’t mind if he chooses a safer option. Reluctantly, Amir Khan is a good option as Manny from last night would put Khan to sleep within 5 IMO. Reluctantly as I don’t think Khan deserves that shot and all the money that’ll come with it. On the other hand I think Pac deserves an easy-ish one after taking on a top dog in his prime so Khan fits the criteria.

Khan would make a good final fight, there will be massive money in SA for that fight. Khan will get obscenely paid whoever he faces considering he reportedly got 7 mln USD against Billy Dib...TempleSlave wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 06:50 Supper chuffed for Manny with last night performance! What it's interesting is how strong was the ww era back then when younger Pac was dominating, with fighters like Cotto, Maragrito, Clottey, JMM and Bradley.

He is phenomenal.
I didn't think he could perform like that anymore against that calibre of opposition at pushing 41.
Modern sportspeople seem to be able to go on forever, much like Roger Federer in tennis.

Given that the older world champions (Foreman, Hopkins) have come from higher weights it really is a phenomenal achievement to be picking a WW belt up at his age. He didn’t snatch it against a soft touch either...Syntax Error wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 08:03 He is phenomenal.

Nothing surprising to me, that's what legends do. Thurman lacks the power to beat Manny. Errol is bad news. Obviously PAC has no interest in getting beat up by Crawford.

Naw. I would enjoy seeing him in with Spence.
Crawford won't happen. It didn't happen when they were both with TR.
But a match with Spence would be a delight.

There’s only 2 things left for Manny to get out of his system.
But his #1 rule should be to forget about fighting Crawford or Spence Jr. forget about both of em. He has nothing bc to prove as he already got rid of one of three young lions.
#1 Lure that juicehead Juan Manuel Marquez our of retirement to exact his revenge. Not likely bc JMM, that pussy of pussy fighters took his ball and went home. Go drink your piss Roidboy.
#2. THE REMATCH: This is it! This is all there is to get back inside that ring for. Floyd was there for a reason last night and there has to be some behind the scene factor involved with that Snake of s judge Moretti scoring the fight in Mannys favor. Floyd’s behind it all boys. Mark my words, May 2020 Floyd vs Manny II. It’s the only thing that makes sense

Floyd and Marquez are long retired. Might as well call out Ray Leonard.
Get it out if your system.

The only thing you “would enjoy” is seeing Pac beaten down. You thought that you would get that personal pleasure last night, but you were deprived.SenorPipino wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 11:38 Naw. I would enjoy seeing him in with Spence.

I would enjoy seeing a high level boxing match. Just like always. Wouldn't you?
Will you accuse everyone who clamors for a Spence-Pacquiao bout, of being a Manny-hating sadist?
Freddie Roach say he wants to see it. And he surely harbors no animosity toward Pacquiao.
Except maybe when Manny forgets to pay him.
Re: Pacman, the living legend, HOF'er, truly a one of a kind! Should he retire as a king?
Spence is a bridge too far and you know it. Manny will do as he pleases. If he chooses that route, great. I would prefer that he goes a different route. This is the perfect crown jewel on a superlative career.SenorPipino wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 13:19You're attempting to read my mind, Kreskin.

Thurman had a better welterweight resume than Spence or Crawford.
Spence went 12 with Mikey Garcia, who's smaller than Pacquiao.
Why should I assume that Spence is a bridge too far? He figures to be a bridge too far for Porter too, but nobodies complaining.
Manny showed last night that he's still formidable.
Must he be sheltered from fighters who might beat him? Especially now that he's a champion?
Spence might very well win, but what's wrong with a matchup where the winner isn't a foregone conclusion?
Re: Pacman, the living legend, HOF'er, truly a one of a kind! Should he retire as a king?
Of course, a couple of days ago you were rationalizing why Thurman would be too much for Manny.SenorPipino wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 13:56I don't know it.

Manny caught Once Upon A Time at the perfect, ripe moment and it still took every ounce that he had left to hold him off.
Now you are throwing your rationalizations behind Spence not having the resume Once Upon A Time has.
You conveniently overlook Brook, who is / was better than anyone Once Upon A Time has faced prior to Pac.
Pac v Mikey would be a great fight.

The only one more fight that Pac should get is Khan.

As a Floyd rumphugger, you should know that Floyd won’t let a payday like this pass. Manny beating Thurman brings legitimism and value to the rematch. Did you think Floyd is going to have the McGregor will be the last win on his resume? No way.SenorPipino wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 12:43caldo2025 wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 12:40 There’s only 2 things left for Manny to get out of his system.

What if Manny beat Spence.
