anyone ever been killed/permanantly injured by ped opponent?
just wondering if there is a presidence for this
Re: anyone ever been killed/permanantly injured by ped opponent?
Not PED's but there was the fella who trained Lennox' Lewis, Pepe Correa, who took the stuffing out of his fighters gloves leaving the opponent blind and he ended up committing suicide.

Sounds similar to Resto/Collins. I still get upset when I'm reminded of that. Billy Collins JR. was a fav of mine back in the day. Completely criminal and tragic situation.

I think the correct answer here might be "No-one has yet failed a PED test following a fight for which their opponent was killed/permanently injured", if you get my drift.
The less exact answer is very, very probably. Muller someone into a coma/brain ward whilst ingesting so much gear your piss is bright radioactive green, & you passed the test, I venture not many would put then their hands up & go "Oh, by the way...."
Besides, one-off freakish things aside, boxing damage is cumulative, so a more apposite but rather less cut & dried answer might be "Not as yet but it's probably contributed to shitloads of things which've happened later or will happen down the road".

If i remember correctly Dennis Lebedev took a horrible beating against Guillermo Jones, resulting a stoppage. Jones then failed a test after the fight.

But not everyone is tested. Some say undercard fighters are not always tested.
When was the last time where a boxer in a main event died?
Obviously we had Adonis who was badly injured.

Me too.
I was reading an article the other week about the trainer who is still training boxers and people were saying he is a good guy etc.
That fight broke Collins mentally and physically and broke his spirit and his heart - a despicable thing for somebody to do.
Re: anyone ever been killed/permanantly injured by ped opponent?
I thought Panama Lewis had a lifetime ban? He should've been in jail

good shout. no death but freakish injury there. jones was like a machine that fight, was getting nailed with loads and loads yet just kept on
Re: anyone ever been killed/permanantly injured by ped opponent?
He trained Sultan and Timur ibragimov and also Zab Judah for a while I think - there is possibly a technicality that he can train boxers but not work their corner in fights (although not sure if this applies to all States).

Hmmm...I do remember him working out of a Miami gym. Shame. Criminal mate.

One I'd encourage everyone to watch. I thought this was an excellent documentary.

Yeah definitely not one to watch if you're looking to feel good about your fellow man.
I say with absolutely no emotion in my voice or on my face that Panama Lewis as a piece of sh1t.

Lewis should've been jailed. And Collins' pop was no angel either. He really messed up Billy too.jameswilson wrote: ↑25 Jul 2019, 17:32 Yeah definitely not one to watch if you're looking to feel good about your fellow man.

Boxing testing is laughable compared to the UFC. Though it has improved from nonexistent.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑25 Jul 2019, 11:27 But not everyone is tested. Some say undercard fighters are not always tested.

I have watched too many films. I thought you meant Creed and was not sure if we knew for sure that Drago Jnr was juiced or notRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑25 Jul 2019, 11:27 But not everyone is tested. Some say undercard fighters are not always tested.

Good one. I prefer type Adonis rather than Stevenson.
