I agree that Browne has been moved frustratingly slow, but Pascal to date has never lost to anyone but top level competition.

JP is still no easy out. The Jack win was not overly surprising with the exception of the absolute dominance.

If Browne goes after a belt holder after this, I will be satisfied.

no doubt jp is a tought man. and if there wasnt such a wealth of fighters to pick from in the top 10, it would be interesting fight , i feel browne has to stop jp or people will question him

:maybe: If he beats JP up for 12 rounds (a la Spence v Mikey) I think people will be fine with it.

Media Workout Quotes

MARCUS BROWNE

“This is going to be fireworks. It’s going to be his last hurrah, so I know he will go down fighting like a champ. I’m ready for it.

“Whatever the future holds, will come together after this fight. I’m just focused on putting on a great performance and defending my title.

“Training camp was very good. I had some really tough sparring partners. I’m going to keep my game plan in my back pocket. But if the knockout presents itself, it presents itself.

“I’m in tip-top shape and I’m ready to go to work. And I’m going to show off all of my God-given abilities on Saturday night.

“I’m completely focused on Jean Pascal and only him. Whatever happens after this fight, I’ll let my team do the work. They’ve done a great job so far. I just have to be ready for whoever it is.

“My long term goal is to be unified and undisputed in this division. I’m going to conquer this division first before I worry about any next steps.

“Training camp in Colorado was tremendous. I’m ready to get in there and have some fun. This is the fun part for me.”

JEAN PASCAL

“I feel great right now. It’s exciting to be back in New York. Training camp went very well. I have no injuries and no excuses leading into Saturday night. I’m ready to unleash.

“I’m training to be back on top. I was already a world champion when I was Marcus’ age. I’m training to get back to that spot and beating Marcus Browne will help me get there.

“Experience is definitely in my favor and of course I’m going to use it. He has youth, and he has speed, but I also have speed. He’s strong, but I believe I’m stronger. Experience is not something you can buy or learn, you have to live it.

“I don’t know exactly how much more I have left, but I know for a fact that the tank is not empty yet. That’s why I’m still in the game. I’m going to empty the tank and then live peacefully.

“I’ve proven it already that I’m one of the best. I still believe I’m one of the best in the weight class. Marcus still has to prove that.”

One thing I hate about PBC on Itv. We hardly getting any PBC fights and Bnation isn’t bothering to pick em up.

The 28-year-old Browne (23-0, 16 KOs), a 2012 U.S. Olympian from nearby Staten Island, stepped on the NYSAC’s scale at 173½ pounds for the first defense of his WBA interim 175-pound championship. The 36-year-old Pascal (33-6-1, 20 KOs, 1 NC), a former WBC champ from Laval, Quebec, came in slightly heavier than Browne (174½ pounds).

Browne is -3000. Too wide for my taste.

Pascal is much more experienced than Jack. But Jack probably has more fight in him.

Pascal ain’t gonna lay down though. He’s gonna go for it.

Browne is almost certain to win but those are unbettable odds. Browne was -900 against Monaghan and -3000 vs Pascal? Makes no sense.

I voted Browne by decision. Pascal has only been stopped by Kovalev. Eleider, Bivol, and prime Dawson couldn't do it.

Jesus Christ. All 3 judges gave Pascal round 8. And the ref scored an incorrect 2nd knockdown in Rd7. And now Pascal has a belt. And he sucks. He was trying to headbutt Browne all night and succeeded in getting the fight stopped because of it.
