I too would like to see the rematch with Thurman if not Floyd. That was a fun fight. What I don’t want to see is Manny fight Spence. That’s no good for Manny. Never mind Porter bc I never want to see that guy fight again bc I find his style unwatchable. What Porter does in there is not Boxing.
manny, suck floyd into a rematch!

Floyd rematch makes sense for both guys. Biggest money and spotlight still, for a relatively risk free spar basically

Exactly why I won’t pay for the rematch either, even if it means missing it live, again. I am a boxing fan. I don’t pay for exhibitions.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 13:15 Floyd rematch makes sense for both guys. Biggest money and spotlight still, for a relatively risk free spar basically

Ya type of fight that they could do 100 times, and not 1 of them would be entertaining
Re: manny, suck floyd into a rematch!
I agree that he should probably give Spence a wide berth at this stage of his caree,r but I would very happily watch him fight Thurman again. That was a fine fight in almost every way (Ok leaving aside the busted rib claims)caldo2025 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 13:11I too would like to see the rematch with Thurman if not Floyd. The reason I don't want to see it, is I am not willing to stay up until 4.00 in the morning, to be bored shitless - AGAIN!

Yes it's definitely in my top 3 of most boring late night main events, along with Fury v Klitschko, and Haye v Valuev.
I deeply regretted staying up for all 3, but for a fight of that magnitude I think it's hard to top the dissapointment level of Mayweather v Pacquaio. It was 5 years too late, but even so, I suspected something akin to a fight might break out at some point.

Floyd vs Manny didn't disappoint me because it was exactly the fight I expected it to be, but I can see how it would've been a disappointment to some.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 15:24

True but we boxing fans know just how unpredictable this sport can be. Even in the aftermath of those three above mentioned travesties of boxing as well as innumerable tragedies we remain eternally optimistic, regularly defying reason.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 15:30Floyd vs Manny didn't disappoint me because it was exactly the fight I expected it to be, but I can see how it would've been a disappointment to some.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 15:24

What might finally finish it for me though is the brazenly blatantly incessant corruption which seems endemic. From PEDs to corrupt scorecards, from WBC to WC, from Nevada State to criminal state...
And now even our great hope and saviour Eddie Hearn has a few questions that need answering. C’mon Eddie, we’re all waiting... tell us the truth man, we can take it, are things really that bad?

I agree gilgamesh. Floyd does what Floyd does, which is stay one step ahead of his opponent, while fighting safe and keeping his opponent from doing what they do best. Now, a Floyd like the one that fought Corrales vs Manny would have been great fun to watch.
I have absolutely no desire to see two 40+ guys do it again, unless they do it for free. $$$ is the only reason Manny wants to fight him again. He would call Horn out to avenge that loss if it wasn't about money. That was close unlike the Floyd/Manny fight.
Re: manny, suck floyd into a rematch!
i think it would be the best matchup. manny is still sharp, and on the top of the division. floyd is retired 2 or 3 years, but still fit. so that evens it up a lot.
manny v the other top welters, i agree would be a risk. to be fair he just proved that he is still one of the best. really crawford should face spence, and possibly pac could face the winner for one last hurrah. not going to happen, i know.

Re: manny, suck floyd into a rematch!
Floyd looking fit evens it up? He is 2 yrs older and hasn't had a meaningful fight in about 4 years. 42.5 yrs old. Wtf, we need to let him retire. The rematch isn't about anything other than MONEY to Pacquiao. If it wasn't, he would avenge the loss to Jeff Horn.fanman wrote: ↑05 Aug 2019, 14:59 i think it would be the best matchup. manny is still sharp, and on the top of the division. floyd is retired 2 or 3 years, but still fit. so that evens it up a lot.
