Yeh. Sky was so biased. Bellew won the first 2-3 rounds at most. From there Usyk began working. Any round Usyk won clear, Froch was awarding it a 10-10 round![]()

I had that commentary too. My wife was saying " What is he on about? "

Hearn: Campbell Fight Toughest Of Lomachenko's Career So Far
Eddie Hearn still feels Luke Campbell will give Lomachenko the most difficult fight of his career next month in London. Hearn expressed that belief to Lomachenko during a press conference Monday in London to officially announce their August 31 bout at O2 Arena.
“You know boxing,” Hearn, Campbell’s promoter, told Lomachenko. “Of course, your father knows boxing. You recognize the test and the challenge of Luke Campbell in this fight. You’ve took part in many tournaments together. I see this as the toughest fight of your career so far – but a big challenge for you, in London, against a British fighter.”
The 31-year-old Lomachenko acknowledged Hearn’s take on how formidable of a challenger Campbell, also 31, will be next month.
“Maybe, because he is tall,” Lomachenko said. “He has a big reach [advantage] and he is a smart boxer. That’s why. And, of course, he has a high boxing IQ. Because he has a very big amateur experience. Maybe it will be, for me, a big challenge.”

According to Hearn, Campbell's fighting for the P4P title and he says...
"...We talk about the fighters we've brought to the UK for major fights - Terrence Crawford, Errol Spence, Gennady Golovkin, Usyk and Linares, all great fighters. All those great fighters have been arguably pound-for-pound no. 1 at the time."
So Ricky Burns, Kell Brook, Tony Bellew and Anthony Crolla were not far off becoming p4p No.1!...Who knew!

Bit of a one sided poll! Surprise surprise.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell - 31 August 2019
Ha! As expected.
I know I'm in the smallest of minoritys in thinking Luke can do this. Loma is very special, but he isn't invincible. Way I look at it is the common opponent Linares.
Loma beat him, but Linares had his moments. Campbell got beat by Linares, but also had his moments and I strongly feel that had they immediately rematched, Campbell would have won the second bout. Anyway, just my 2 cents worth.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell - 31 August 2019
I buy into the Loma lore. Don't think Campbell has much of a chance, but that's why they fight right? Are you gonna take some action on your hunch?KiwiRider wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 19:08Ha! As expected.

I'm not keen to bet on it, I just have a feeling Luke can do it, but after getting burned by Rivas, I'm a little shy on outsiders at the moment.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell - 31 August 2019
LOL! Good choice! I got burned by Rivas, or was it WHyte? or was it Hearn?

Loma is going to have a field day here. Campbell, while effective, is pretty predictable and has a big target to the body. After the first few feel out rounds loma is going to catch him with looping shots he doesn't see and put him in survival mode. Body shots will end the fight I reckon.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell - 31 August 2019
They are both good body punchers. The only hope Campbell has is to use his reach and land when he can. If he can. I agree about Loma starting slow to feel out Campbell, that's how I see it starting as well. I feel Campbell's best chance is to hurt Loma early, if he can, and really go for it.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 16:45 Loma is going to have a field day here. I know I'm not in the general consensus, but I feel this fight is 60/40 to Loma and I won't count Campbell out of it.

I think you need to be unpredictable vs Loma or have some elite attribute. Like concussive power ie Davis/Mikey Garcia. Linares throws every punch in the book and throws combinations so even though his defence and durability are lacking, he has a very good offensive game when he let's it go and 3-4 punch combos are coming your way. Campbell is going to be totally figured out within a few rounds and once Loma knows what Campbell does in certain situations and knows how to avoid his shots, he will simply start manoeuvring Campbell into positions where he doesn't even see the shots looping over the top. He could get absolutely flattened here could Campbell.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 17:17This is exactly how I see itTheLeprechaun wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 16:45 Loma is going to have a field day here. Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell - 31 August 2019
Loma will be primarily concerned about Campbells best shot which is the striaght left hand down the pipe. He will be getting a feel for how Campbell throws it moving forward and back and where he's safe. The jab from Campbell is not going to be too much of a problem but his straight left hand has to be taken away. If Campbell becomes afraid to throw it because its not landing or he's getting countered then he's in serious trouble because that's the punch that will keep loma in check.KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 17:14They are both good body punchers. Campbell also has that screw hook to the body in his arsenal, bloody nightmare shot if landed properly.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 17:32Loma will be primarily concerned about Campbells best shot which is the striaght left hand down the pipe. 30-Day Weights: Lomachenko 144.5, Campbell 147.4
Both boxers came well within the 30-day weight threshold as imposed by the World Boxing Council (WBC), one of the three belts at stake for their Aug. 31 showdown at O2 Arena in London, England.
For the 30 day weigh-in, the boxers must not be more than 10% of the divisional limit which in this case would be 14 pounds (rounded up) above the 135-pound maximum weight. Lomachenko (13-1, 10KOs) checked in at a finely-sculpted 144.5 pounds, while Campbell (20-2, 13KOs) also looks fight-night ready as he weighed 147.4 pounds.
The next safety weight check will be at the 14-day mark (Aug. 17), at which point they cannot weigh more than 142 pounds, or 5% above the contracted limit. From there will come a 7-day check, where they must be within 3% of the lightweight max or 139 pounds.

Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
World Boxing News understands Saudi Arabia has made a late bid to stage the Andy Ruiz v Anthony Joshua rematch later this year.
After weeks of talks since their shock first bout at Madison Square Garden, a venue stalemate had threatened negotiations.
As WBN revealed, New York was initially agreed as the stage for a second bout, which was contracted once Ruiz stunned Joshua on June 1st.
Streaming service DAZN, who own broadcast rights, insisted on MSG for the return. Eddie Hearn on the other hand, Joshua’s promoter, was keen to give his man home advantage in the UK.
Ruiz, Mexico’s first ever heavyweight champion, was unequivocal in his insistence Britain would not be the host. This was made all the more final once Dillian Whyte tested postive for a banned substance before his victory over Oscar Rivas on July 20.
With both sides deadlocked, an alternative of Saudi Arabia has now emerged late in the day. WBN believes the country is now the favorite to secure Ruiz v Joshua 2 for November or December.
The Principality Stadium in Wales was Hearn’s first choice. But Saudi could be a very lucrative move once finalized for the two protagonists.
Amir Khan has been making big moves in the area recently, making a whopping £7 million purse for a fight against Billy Dib.
A huge and high-profile heavyweight battle will certainly be worth well into eight-figures to Ruiz and Joshua respectively.
Thrashing out the last few points of the deal could be done by the end of this week, with Matchroom, DAZN and Hearn potentially confirming the clash in the coming days.
Joshua will attempt to win back his four versions of the top division crown. Ruiz, who begins the underdog once again despite dropping ‘AJ’ four times, will aim to give handler Al Haymon full control over the division.

Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Saudi Arabia is unpleasant in many ways, but many of our other close 'allies' are similarly odious. The Saudis and the CIA co-funded the mujahideen, later Al Qaeda, so let's refuse to fight in America. The UK trained Islamic State fighters in Libya, so let's refuse to fight here as well! And the western media trumpeted war in Iraq with fake WMD propaganda, so let's refuse to even fight on TV!
Ultimately these are professional athletes with a very short shelf life. If I was offered gazillions to fight in Saudi Arabia, I wouldn't turn it down on some daft principle.

Thanks for the history channel rerun. If it is “gazillions” more than offered in New York or LA or Dallas or Vegas, I can understand the biz sense of it. But, it needs to be “gazillions.”overhand_right wrote: ↑06 Aug 2019, 12:49 Saudi Arabia is unpleasant in many ways, but many of our other close 'allies' are similarly odious.
