Chris Jenkins vs Paddy Gallagher
Jenkins defends his British Welterweight title against Gallagher on the Conlan/Ruiz card this Saturday on BT, vacant Commonwealth title is on the line as well, I reckon this has the makings of a decent scrap, I thought Jenkins was pretty much punch perfect against Garton in winning the title, career best performance by a country mile, I never expected he'd be able to box to a plan like that, he showed he can box as well as just push out the punches and get in his opponents face
Gallagher has always fallen short when stepping up, I seen him put in a good effort against Brad Solimon over in the states not too long ago, he decked Solimon early but lost a decision, , he can whack a bit but is a bit vulnerable around the whiskers, I think Jenkins will prove too hot to handle and stop him in the later rounds

Gallagher is a bit of a handful, similar to Garton in some ways, but with more power.
I see Jenkins winning a wide decision, but he will have to work hard for it.

Re: Chris Jenkins vs Paddy Gallagher
I see it as being a great fight, Jenkins is always busy and Gallagher is a bit of an under achiever but always looks dangerous.
Jenkins was brought in as an opponent for Garton after being frozen out for a couple of years, he knows that chances don't just turn up, Gallagher is in the last chance saloon, both will proper go for it and the styles barring cuts will blend great.
Also the atmosphere is always great in Ireland.
Has fight of the night written all over it.

At times Gallagher looks really good and like he shouldve accomplished more than he has and shouldnt have lost some of those he did

Re: Chris Jenkins vs Paddy Gallagher
I had Jenkins ahead 86-85 as well, I assumed the judges scored the 9th 10-10, truth be told Gallagher should've won a TKO as both cuts were caused by punches but its always hard to see first time around
As far as the fight itself goes I thought it was quality fight, Jenkins showing again for a second time in a row he can be a tidy boxer and counters very well, he had that bit of quality about his boxing, he picked off Gallagher with the jab, countered with the left hook before spinning off and as the rounds went on he started landing the lead right hand as well
Big shock to see Gallagher put Jenkins down at the end of the 6th, doubled him up with a left across the body, looked like another one partially landed before he went down, just as well for Jenkins it was the end of the round, it, Gallagher started to look like he was coming on strong and it sprung him into life but he dropped off and Jenkins looked like he was boxing his way back into things before the second cut, it was pretty gruesome I was surprised it wasn't stopped there and then
Gotta be a rematch, I agreed with the scores but shouldve been a win for Gallagher

Good fight. Jenkins was comfy until the knockdown. He cuts badly though so british probably his level

This & Keeler v Arias were miles better than the main event! Gallagher can consider himself unlucky, quite like Jenkins as a boxer but as said above his tendency to cut badly will surely hinder his progress.

I was really impressed with McComb, now and again you'll see someone who puts in a performance where you think oh aye he's a bit special and McComb's showing against Garrido was one of them, much better than the likes of Conlan and Barnes who everyone is trying to convince that their world class, both likeable fellas and elite level amateurs but I don't rate them as pros, both barely British level IMO

Impressive shows from McComb and Keeler.
Gallagher was robbed. Should be British and Commonwealth champion via TKO win. Great punch caused the laceration.
Gallagher is a very unlucky boxer very he's been defeated 4 times and all 4 times he could've got decision.

he looks a very slick boxer, also has height and reach, and you can see the pedigree in him, that was his 8 th fight aswell , talk of him fighting for a european belt as Robbie Davies Jnr is british champhandsofstone wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 09:08 I was really impressed with McComb, now and again you'll see someone who puts in a performance where you think oh aye he's a bit special and McComb's showing against Garrido was one of them, much better than the likes of Conlan and Barnes who everyone is trying to convince that their world class, both likeable fellas and elite level amateurs but I don't rate them as pros, both barely British level IMO
