The Elephant in the Room (VADA/UKAD)

Post by JimStone »

If Whyte was found to have metabolites of a banned substance in his system by UKAD,'s test - and nobody has spoken out to deny this is the case - unless there is a TUE admin mix up or similar e.g. UKAD not being made aware of an exemption that VADA were, surely VADA's heralded system loses credibility as they have him clear?

Two questions:-

1. Who pays for UKAD testing?

2.. Who pays for VADA testing?

I would assume that it would be the promoter? I do not know why there are so many testing agencies anyway.

Dbol is in for 3 days apparently, so sounds more like UKAD got lucky. VADA won't be testing him daily.

It does lead to questions though, and some very hard ones for the testing bodies

I've Hearn say a couple of times that Whyte paid between $30,000-$40,000 to be tested by VADA

The question for me is whether they test for the same substances at the same levels or whether they have completely different standards

The two testing agencies draw samples on different days. VADA's last sample was taken on the 15th. UKAD's on the 17th.

Aye I know but do they test for the same substances at the same levels?

Or do they both do their own thing?

The fact that whyte pays vada 30/40k a fight speaks volumes to me he’s paying there wages .
Ukad is independent and they are they ones with you on fight night before and after the fight

Yep. Fighters voluntarily paying for the testing is a strange concept.

If nothing else it raises suspicions of potential conflicts of interest

Until boxing has one regulatory body things like this will always be murky.

And even then there's no guarantee. Look at fifa.

How many has it caught that it's being paid by, as opposed to those they are working on behalf of the WBC or promoter for?
