A 10% discount on Calzaghe's autumn return.

Now does that mean SN accept that Calzaghe represents 90% of the value of the purchase price for the show on the 8th.

And if so, shouldn't they offer more refund to the 13,000 who've bought tickets?

A 10% discount is a meagre offering to be honest, even if you accept the reasoning as 100% genuine.

I would have thought 25% refund or 30% loyalty discount would have been a more reasonable recompence.

I smell bullshit, I doubt he is injured. This has been a farce from start to finish. Congratulations Calzaghe and Sports Network on undoing all the hard work they did getting everyone back on side again with the Lacy fight.

i think plenty of us saw this coming. but i didn't think they'd stoop so low. will boxingchat be on here anytime soon, i doubt it.

this does not look good for calzaghe. three times he pissed johnson about. ppl will now think he's scared of him.

anyhow, i'm pleased for woods. he gets to fight johnson again and do it properly this time

seems a little unlikely, proabbly just a way of saving face that allegedly cant put together an opponent for Joe. Stinks of unprofessionalism and means that the next time Joe fights they will have difficulty selling tickets for such an unsteady offering.

Wonder how Johnson feels, must be ready to say I told you so.

Really annoying, and it is not like he is young enough for all this crap, he should jump ship from Warren as well.

I don't know whether he is injured or not, what I DO know is that sometimes, boxing fornicating sucks.

However, it is worth noting that Calzaghe has had bad hands for a long time now. He's pretty close to retirement now, and probably only has a couple of fights left in him before the hands completely go. So if he has picked up a slight niggle, it's no wonder they've pulled out.

I have a feeling Calzaghe will only have 1 more fight against a big name opponent, then call it quits.

On the beeb as well, I must say this is very poor from FW, the whole handling, just yesterday I was reading about Glen Johnson fighting, earlier this week allegedly was lamenting the lack of fighters around, now this.

Just to please JamesMcDonnell;

On Tuesday I spent £50 to go and see the Millennium Stadium Event, on Thursday, Calazaghe pulled out of the event. I had a feeling he might not end up fighting Johnson. Why did I bother buying it?

Oh well, though Johnson/Calazaghe would've been a great fight, it was more Danny vs Skelton that I cared about seeing. This is still an ar se. Especially being that this was to be my first live boxing event, and I have to go all the way to Cardiff to see it.

Ha, come on, look at the participants:

Warren -captain lowball, waited til 5 weeks before the fight to make a damn decision, and picked a bunch of guys who are no where near world title status besides Beyere, and sent a joke offer to him. Kessler was never on their radar, don't let him using the injury fool you.

Calzaghe - the guy seems to pull up lame at the worst of times

Johnson - will go anywhere and fight anyone, and I doubt he'd complain about money too much unless it was a typical Warren special right down the shoot and about one "0" too little.

calzaghe is an injury prone fighter and always has been. i tend to agree with your 1 more big fight and out theory.

You seem to suggest that it'sGlen's fault the fight didn't come about. This is blaming, and it is the opposite of stating the facts.
