Frank Warran and Billy Joe Saunders Split
Following a relationship that has spanned the whole professional career of Billy Joe Saunders, that has included World Titles in two weight divisions, Hall of Fame Promoter Frank and Saunders have agreed terms for an amicable release from his promotional contract.
Frank enjoyed a successful partnership with Billy Joe in which he guided him in an unblemished run of British, Commonwealth, European and World Championships at both Middle and Super Middleweight. The partnership saw many big fights at different career levels, which has included wins over John Ryder, Chris Eubank Jr, Andy Lee and David Lemieux.
Whilst holding the WBO World Middleweight Championship, Billy Joe signed contracts to unify the World Middleweight titles against Gennady Golovkin, which did not ultimately take place due to Golovkin not signing and returning the contract but pursuing the Canelo Alvarez fight.
An outstanding career best win against Lemieux in Canada where Saunders announced himself to North American Boxing fans, unfortunately was followed by problems outside of the ring, a period of injury and having to vacate his World Title, losing the momentum built after his win.
Following dialogue between allegedly, Billy Joe and his management company MTK over recent weeks, it was mutually agreed that after struggling to regain this collective momentum, and with certain fights not immediately available within the partnership, that it is in the interests of both parties to pursue their respective goals separately.
Frank and all the team at Queensberry Promotions have enjoyed a great personal relationship with Billy Joe over the years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
We are sure that Billy Joe can continue to demonstrate his always unquestionable talent and we look forward to seeing him achieve the remaining goals he has left in his career.
Frank said “I’ve really enjoyed working with Billy Joe through his whole professional career and guiding him to become British, Commonwealth, European and a two Weight World Champion.
I’m personally very fond of Billy Joe and I wish him every success in the remainder of his career.”
Billy Joe Saunders said, “First of all, I just want to say a massive thank you to Frank for everything he has done for my career over the past decade.
Frank signed me after the 2008 Olympics and was with me every step of the way as I won the British, Commonwealth and European titles before becoming a world champion in two divisions.
It feels a little bittersweet and I’ll always be appreciative for everything Frank has done for me. We’ll stay close.”

A bit surprised maybe bjs knows he had to go to Eddie to get the big fights like canelo and GGG
Re: Frank Warran and Billy Joe Saunder Split
Off to Eddie?
After calling him various names for some years, I notice them being a little jokey in a few IFL interviews.

If he's off to Eddie and Dazn then he's very much in the Canelo mix. Makes sens.

Another fighter with a failed test on their way to Eddie's ever growing collection... And neither BJS or Hughie can draw a dime so it's not like he's snapping them up their ability to sell PPVs

Won’t make difference - GGG/Canelo sell themselves.Boxing Prospect wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 12:39 Another fighter with a failed test on their way to Eddie's ever growing collection... And neither BJS or Hughie can draw a dime so it's not like he's snapping them up their ability to sell PPVs

Callum Smith is the right fight for him.
Re: Frank Warran and Billy Joe Saunder Split
Hopefully , Callum will knock the shit out of him.
Re: Frank Warran and Billy Joe Saunder Split
FW has done an amazing job for BJS, getting a soft shot at a vacant title after being stripped for a failed test, that's magic.

Mmmm , i get the impresion , you don't like him much thenkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 16:34Call will beat him, hopefully BJS falls down the stairs after that and then lands on some spikes coated in poison and then suffers a freak alligator attack. Other than that, I wish him all the best.

Come on ffs!! Bjs is probably only ever competing at a physical potential of 70% due to his lifestyle, yet he’s ‘not bad’. His ‘style’, is a threat, hence he’ll be avoided when opponents know he’s in his ready state.
IMO he underrated. Ignore the dickhead behind the name. The ‘dumb gypsy boy’ is a very good boxer. That’s all that matters really to us.

Way too big for him surely ?
Re: Frank Warran and Billy Joe Saunder Split
Sort of makes me wonder , Is Franks glad to get rid of a guy who is notorious for not training properly , keeps changing trainers , can't sell tickets and has more haters than fans , OR is Frank losing him because its becoming the end of an era , and frank can't deliver ,
Don't know ,, i'll have to have a cup of tea and think about that one

Being professional in all aspects is what it's all about tho. Tough shit for him if he cant be arsed, plenty of others can.SAPFO wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 20:34 Come on ffs!! The pathetic man child antics are just that, shameful really , he's not a kid. We will hear all about how sorry he was when he is retired.

They only way he is fighting on DAZN Is through Matchroom. No way he’ll be a promotional free agent. He could just sign with Golden Boy.JimStone wrote: ↑03 Aug 2019, 09:03Steddie HearnBoxing Prospect wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 12:39 Another fighter with a failed test on their way to Eddie's ever growing collection...
