I liked Hughes for that fight too, was tight.

Agree with this..was at the show, really enjoyed this competitive scrap although Cullen always looked more or less in control. He moves well, has a nice jab and a confident look about him.Fortynineandout wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 15:58 Enjoyed the Cullen V Harding Jnr scrap . Two hungry fighters going for it for the English title.
Harding as game as they come but outclassed and eventually stopped .
I’ve seen quite a bit of Cullen as he’s been developed on Steve Woods Vip shows . He’s got a decent following and has very fan friendly fighting style always coming to box. Hopefully the planned commonwealth title against Felix Cash can take place next .
Well done to Cullen and his team .

That ended up a decent scrap after a bit of a slow start, I had Fowler winning 97-93, he built up an early lead, he was busier and had the stronger jab, worked the body although he should've had a point off for repeated low blows, I thought he would sweep Rose aside but fair play to Rose he never really looked hurt until the last round when he felt a couple of big right hands but he used his experience to ride out the storm
Rose used the jab from the start but not with any conviction, he was a bit in survival mode early doors, soaking up and blocking a lot of Fowler's work, Rose made things closer when he started to bring his own right hand into play but he left himself too much work to do, Fowler's big last round just put the seal on the win, good learning fight for Fowler

Fowler's going nowhere. He does have some power but his last 2 fights he's stepped up from journeyman level and all of sudden the guys ain't budging. His stance sucks. Why are his feet so wide and so static. There were periods last night of 6 or 7 seconds where he was entirely stationary on the 1 spot. He's miles behind guys like Liam Wiliams and Beefy Smith. Another weight bully that's been found out is my verdict.

Cullen is a dangerous fighter with a crap nickname.
He really needs to learn to control distance, he could've had Harding out of there in round 2 with some polishing. He continued to get too close though and smothered his own work. Keep that distance so the long straight right is always ready, don't allow your opponent to clinch.... it was frustrating to watch but he got it done in the end.

Good power but not great, Rose has been stopped a few times at a higher level, for me Fowler is domestic level and with his age and am experience I don't think he can improve significantly..Ricky wrote: ↑03 Aug 2019, 06:04 Fowler's going nowhere. He would be a straightforward fight for Williams or Smith.
Also he seems to have a lot of self belief which while on the one hand this is necessary but it does hinder you taking good advice. And also going back to the long am career. He is quite set in his ways.

I’m the same - Syrowatka when the Pole empties him was a classic.
Ritson isn’t big enough for the new weight - he was massive the weight below but isn’t carrying the snap the weight above.
