What about Allen vs. Lewison??
You reckon he beats him?
You reckon he beats him?
Re: Dave Allen 'Fully Intends' To Fight On
I thought lewison had effectively retired?
Re: Dave Allen 'Fully Intends' To Fight On
I see no problem with Allen fighting on (provided he is medically cleared to do so).
But if he wants to go for the British title he should wait until Dubois has moved on.
If he takes too many beatings the decision may not be his to make in the end though.

Yes, it got him back on big bills after yoka
Re: Dave Allen 'Fully Intends' To Fight On
It's up to the BBBoC realistically. Unless he fights off shore
Re: Dave Allen 'Fully Intends' To Fight On
Dave Allen has zero chance of winning a British title. Unfortunately for him there are 9 better opponents before him in the pecking order. Its very unlikely Dave would get a British title shot unless 5 or 6 above him decide they dont want a British title. Same as Commonwealth, there are too many above him and for a Euro title there is absolutely no way he could get a title shot.
His realistical belt would be a area title or English at the very most. Im sure he could contest in a IBO international trinket fighting an African with a poor record with zero wins.
Dave is a decent fella, seems ok on Twitter, spends too much of his time on Twitter if im honest but hes open like a porn mag with defence and is too small to be ever a contender.
What Dave could do is go on the road, pick up the odd win but always getting beat by the fringe contender. Its just a fact of boxing life without being harsh on Dave.

His best case career wise, and putting the very important health question aside, is just to keep on with how its been, with him beating fairly weak opposition before stepping up and getting beat. Rinse and repeat.
But if this guy seriously collapsed after last fight I would be very weary of him ever fighting again. He has the absolute worst set of style and attributes for health = great chin but zero defense, so taking loads of shots

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dave Allen needs to be extremely carefully matched against slow plodders that are easy to hit.

Exactly. That's why he could beat Lucas Browne but not Lenny Thomas. Dave has practically no skill an needs people to be there in a pub fight with him, so his chin and strength (at a certain level) can come into play. Price had way too much skill for him, they had banked on Price's fragility but you need to pose a certain threat to Pricey for that to come into play, and Allen didn't have the skill to unsettle himkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑01 Aug 2019, 05:15 I've said it before and I'll say it again. They’re quite strict with who enters Ultimate Boxxer though. Mostly guys that are not usually on tv.Gnome wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 13:37There's the Ultimate Boxer these days, would love to see a heavyweight version.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 11:15 Allen is not good

Sounded punch drunk in his most recent IFL interview.
Hope he retires.
