Can some one help me out... I've bought tickets (but haven't recieved them).... now I don't want to go, can I have my MONEY back!!! (all of it).
Unfortunatley, I don't think you will get it back as it will probably say 'Championship boxing' which I assume will still be on.
Therefore the show that is advertised is still on, just the details have changed which it will state 'subject to change' or 'promoter reserves the right to change'
How is anyone criticising Johnson for playing hardball and not signing the first offer they put in front of him when what he was saying has been proved right now Calzaghe has 'hurt' himself.
Johnson could be F*cked here.... If he accepted the Calzaghe fight he'd have surrendered his IBF NUMBER ONE position... and therefore Woods won't need to fight him... Calzaghe could have really ruined his career here...

Is there any potential lawsuit headed Frankie's way if that happened?
You CAN </b>get your money back mate.... I demanded a refund last year when WIlliams v Skelton didn't happen in July... ticketmaster said "the promoter says no refunds" and they wouldn't give me money back as Khan went ahead... BUT I called my credit card (Lloyds Mastercard) and they refunded my money, saying they agreed I'd been ripped off...Although they've got "card subject to change" disclaimers I had a verbal contract to buy "tickets for Danny Williams v MAtt Skelton" ... not Khan... PLUS, I bet it says "World Championship Boxing" on the tickets and with no Joe where's the world title fight?
I don't buy it for a second. For a start in training he'll be using the big 16o gloves. Secondly Joe doesn't really spar, so are we to believe he done this on the pads?? Are we to believe that Joe, with his shitty punch technique and fragile hands doesn't wear extra protection on his hands just in case. Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones had bad hands. They got it sorted and are careful in training and almost never pull out of fights due to this. Is an experienced fighter like Joe really that stupid as to go hard on his hands in training? Enough to break a bone again?? This is a laughable excuse.

Just don't sign for the tickets when they come, or write so illegibly you can claim you never received them...they can't charge for a product or service never rendered.

True but Mayweather and Jones didnt/dont train in a cowshed either.

So is it not a fact that Johnson took alongtime to accept the fight (still hasn't) Was he not faffing about?
It doesn't matter now anyway, as had he accepted the fight, it would of still been called off due to injury. (so they say)
I reckon the truth is, Warren couldn't get an opponent to sign for Joe, so they pulled him out. They smeg up again.
Wasn't Johnson proven exactly right by this most recent development?
Well as far as I know, the Johnson fight was never signed. So who knows what happened. I have a feeling that Johnson refused the fight terms, and Warren was left with egg on his face, and no opp. for Joe.

Not signing for tickets isn't the way to go, guys... your money will have long since reached FW's back pocket (not the front, as BoxingChat lives there)... rather demand a refund from where you got them from or ask your credit card or bank to help you...
From my own personal experience with this promoter, you'll be lucky to get your money back directly, but good luck trying for a refund via your credit card company. I will NEVER buy a ticket for a show staged by this promotional company. Not even if the ticket was a quid and the venue was at the bottom of my street.
In my humble opinion, UK fans are not treated to two main-event style matches because the promoter just can't help giving good value for money, its so the promoter can keep the ticket money if the nominal main event falls through, as it did 2 weeks ago when Scott Harrison pulled out of his WBO title defence - the chief supporting bout, a pointless WBU fight between two of the promoter's own fighters, was elevated to the main event and the show went ahead.
Did anybody here really think that it was a gesture of goodwill towards British boxing fans when Danny Williams vs Matt Skelton was the chief supporting contest to Calzaghe's big home-coming fight ? I'm not saying it was a scam from the start, but what it is, is insurance to ensure the show goes on as and when the main event goes down the pan.
I'm sure that, if Williams or Skelton pulls out, the virtues of two WBU title fights (Enzo, Lockett) will be sung to the high heavens, but this is not genuine world championship boxing. Dream on....

To be fair punters buy the tickets knowing the card is subject to change.
Anyone buying tickets for a Calzaghe fight should know what they are getting themselves into by now. In the last 4-5 years he must have cancelled as many fights as he's had. Not saying its right but anyone buying tickets for Calzaghe v TBA needs their head read! ;)
