I'm sure there are many more too.

Michael Phelps would often win several medals a day at the Olympics, usually gold. But then swimmers have the opportunity to do that.

Obviously Boxing is different as their is only one Gold per weight, women's boxing is also very new to the Olympics and the records being set now may stay in place for a very long time.

Since 2012 Shields and Taylor have taken the pro game by storm, both have become undisputed in their respective divisions and are now recognisable names to boxing fans around the world, even ones who don't follow women's boxing.

Adams....... Not so much.

For one reason or another, her pro career has not got going and she has been left in the shadows of her Irish and American counterparts.

So it is maybe understandable that she wants to be the first woman to win back to back to back Olympic boxing Golds as this would give her a record that will likely not be met or beat for some time.

At her age though, it will be far from a given that she win be able to win. I have no problem with her giving it a go. Unless, of course, she is taking a spot from a young girl who is capable of qualifying.

GB boss McCracken open to double Olympic champion competing at Tokyo 2020

GB Boxing performance director Rob McCracken would be "willing to listen" if Nicola Adams wanted to bid for a place at a third Olympics - but stressed he has had no discussions with the double gold medallist.

Adams, now a professional, posted a video on social media of the Tokyo 2020 gold medal, commenting: "I wonder how this would look on my mantelpiece."

"If Nicky wanted to talk we're always willing to listen to her but there's nothing in it at the moment," McCracken told BBC Sport.

"The door is open at GB Boxing for sure. There's always a possibility for anybody. But up till now there's been no chats."

Adams won Olympic gold at 51kg at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games.

After Rio, she left the GB Boxing programme to turn professional, and became WBO world flyweight champion for the first time in July.

Having fought professionally does not preclude her competing at the Tokyo Games, provided she qualifies and is nominated by the British Olympic Association.

However, the 36-year-old is under contract with the promoter allegedly.

McCracken added: "Boxers like Nicola Adams, Katie Taylor - former Olympic medallists [who have gone professional] - I'm sure they all think about [another Olympics] from time to time.

"But there's nothing to report on, to be honest with you."

She’ll struggle to get bouts - are there many international tournaments for her so she can get plenty of bouts that way?

She’s very hard to match. She’s out there in the Europeans. To be honest, I’ve never known a record like it.
