There is a reason why Porter, Danny Garcia, and Thurman didn't fight Spence when they could have. We will find out why when Porter and Spence meet.

Two takeaways I got from this post:
-Porter ducked Spence.
-Porter isn't ducking Spence, because he's fighting him next.

Both Porter and Danny Garcia clearly ducked Spence. Porter fought Bone and Broner and could have fought Spence for his belt, but he said he was going a different direction, he already had the IBF belt. Then he fought Berto and Grandos, same scenario after losing to Thurman. Spence was available.
Danny Garcia, same thing. He fights Paulie, Lamont Peterson, Sammy Vargus, Guerrero, Rios. Spence was available during several of those fights. They clearly didn't want to fight Spence.

Now, yes Porter is fighting Spence because he pretty much has to.

That is all convenient, but Once Upon A Time has no logical reason to fight Spence prior to now. Spence, contrary to his own assessment of his drawing power v Mikey, has never brought the $$$ to the table to justify the risk, when OUAT was healthy.

May weather wanted Thurman and Spence to fight for a title he was vacating on an undercard of his. It was before Thurman had any status as a draw.

Once Upon A Time has never had “status as a draw,” imo, until possibly now, thanks to Manny. If Keith had not been injured, and he had not fought Spence by now, then I would say they were avoiding him.

If Once Upon A Time had not been knocked down in round 1 v Manny, he would be set up for a very large fight v the winner of Spence v Porter.

Too many ifs and had nots.

I think Crawford vs Spence will happen next spring or next fall. If not by then it won't happen. In the meantime, Crawford should fight either Pacman, Thurman, or Danny Garcia. Enough of the Amir Khan BS fights. When he offers Danny Garcia a million or two less than Amir Khan, that speaks pretty loud. I do think Crawford beats any welterweight except Spence, and that to me is a 55-45 fight in favor of Spence.

It doesn't matter how you word it, those guys aren't fighting each other. Bud would fight any of them. You may not have heard, there is a division amongst promoters.

Let’s get one fact categorically straight, no one has ducked Errol Spence Jr. ever. The handlers of the Texan resident didn’t try to make fights with some of his big-name PBC peers. And people can’t prove otherwise.

Similarly, no one has ducked Terence Crawford either. Bud actually chose to extend his contract with Top Rank fully-appreciating that this decision would make fights against his PBC rivals far more difficult.

Listen guys, if you cannot be bothered to research the historical events that actually transpired, then stop lazily accusing fighters of ducking their rivals if you’re utterly clueless about the events that actually transpired in the real-world.
