Kash Farooq British Bantamweight Champion next defence Live on BBC 17th August

Post by toomanyshots »

Kash Farooq 12-0 (5) makes his next defence against Duane Winters 11-1 (1) on Saturday the 17th of August. Should Kash win this he keeps the belt outright to become the first boxer of Asian origin to win the belt outright. The fight will be shown live on the BBC Scotland channel as per the link below. Whoever wins has to box mandatory challenger Lee McGregor๐Ÿ’ฅ๐ŸฅŠ

Duane`s from my home city and a nice quiet lad,has a good engine but old for a novice bantam, very little power to speak of so can`t see this going well for him tbh.
What`s Kash like, decent stoppage ratio but haven`t seen him for myself myself.

Nice one. Great what theyโ€™re doing with Kash: so nice to see a British champion so active.

Hopefully he comes through in style & sets up the clash with McGregor.

Kash has great upper body movement and looks difficult to catch Clean. Seems to be punching harder too - stopped five of his last six. Gorilla productions did a nice highlight of one of his fights.

If he`s as good as you all say then he`ll walk straight through Duane, who`s only really fought low-level opponents, and struggled with many of them tbh.
Good opportunity for the lad though, and good luck to them both

I really like Farooq he's a quality operator, smooth boxer, not a big puncher but is accurate so has been getting guys out of there lately, looks to be improving all the time, ive never seen Winters before but theres nothing on his record to suggest he beats Farooq although you never know with these unknown guys, I liked Farooq's win over Butcher but these last 2 opponents aren't British level IMO, not on paper anyway, I want to see the McGregor fight before both guys move on

You should be able to watch it through the BBC Sport app. The undercard is live via the app just now. Should be able to get the app on most streaming devices like Fire TV, Roku etc... Available on phone and tablet too.

Sorry to answer your question yes its available through iplayer too

Yeah that was a mismatch in hindsight.
Why was it called RSC? He counted him out

Winters was good enough to be Southern Area champ at a weight above.

And he looked bigger than Farooq and seemed to have a tight guard. But all over in one round after an innocuous looking left hook to the body.
But congratulations to Farooq on winning the Lonsdale belt outright: no mean feat.
Mcgregor - Farooq lets get it on!
