Odds of Whyte-Rivas becoming No Contest?
Whyte tested positive before the fight, right?
In many cases, a fight has been declared a No Contest when a fighter tests positive following the fight (happened to Tyson and Arreola twice each for pot). Other times (Lucas Browne - Chagaev comes to mind) the result stands for whatever reason.
Whyte's positive test happened before the fight. Seems like Rivas has a good case.
What is going to happen? Anything?

At the moment we don’t know what actually happened with Whyte UKAD tests.
Dillian hasn’t been accused or charged with anything yet by the BBBofC or UKAD.
For sure, there are a lot of rumours speculating the situation, but we’ve not received any official confirmation yet.
That being said, assuming Whyte is eventually charged with consuming PED’s, it’s hard to envisage any scenario that allows the Brits’ victory over Rivas to stand.
I could be wrong though, because boxing is notorious for strange decisions being made by the sports’ various governing bodies.

I guess that the odds are unfortunately low. It's boxing.
Re: Odds of Whyte-Rivas becoming No Contest?
Any fights where one guy tests positive should be a loss for him and a win for the opponent. No-contest is just BS.
Re: Odds of Whyte-Rivas becoming No Contest?
..should be qualified as a loss and the doper shoud be heavily fined..and I mean HEAVILY..in this case I agree there should be an official statement made by BBBofC or UKAD first..

yeah I was confused by the lack of information on this....I didn't read about it when it was initially reported, then people weren't talking about it, so it looked like it was just going to disappear.
Maybe it will, who knows. Seems like Teper got away with a lot of positive tests with no ramifications, and Miller might too. If Whyte didn't do anything, so be it, but if he did then I'd like to see Rivas keep his "0" for another big fight.

Problem is that we don't even know if he failed a test or had an adverse finding, they can be two very different things.
I remember a case a few years back when marathon runner Paula Radcliffe had thinner blood than is considered natural (a sign of doping in endurance athletes), but no trace of any illegal substance.
She provided evidence that she had just completed altitute training prior to the test, which explained the odd blood readings and it was decided she had done nothing wrong.
This case was kept confidential, as most cases are, until someone leaked it to a German newspaper several months after the event.
Not saying Whyte's case will be the same. Just that these things can be far more complicated than they first appear and that confidentiality isn't a sign of guilt or corruption, it is actually the the norm.

It seems that Eddie Hearn is expecting Dillian Whyte to have another fight before the end of the year.
'The Body Snatcher' hasn't officially been charged with anything yet by the BBBofC or by UKAD.
It’s been almost nine weeks since the date of the alleged positive test result. And it is not known whether Whyte’s ‘B’ sample has been tested yet.

Can you name a single fighter that won a fight, subsequently tested positive for banned substances and had the result of the bout overturned to a loss for the original victor (i.e. the drug cheat)?
I honestly cannot think of a single instance when this has happened.

I'm not saying it WILL happen, I just believe it SHOULD and MUST..Enlightened-One wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 06:38Can you name a single fighter that won a fight, subsequently tested positive for banned substances and had the result of the bout overturned to a loss for the original victor (i.e. the drug cheat)?
