Re: MTK Global unveil new ‘Golden Contract’ tournament
The release says all the fighters belts will be on the line each fight, but obviously Harrion can't fight for the British or Commonwealth. Is Walsh and Woods going to drop those I guess if they draw him?

Re: MTK Global unveil new ‘Golden Contract’ tournament
I like the idea of the tournament other than the one weeks notice for opponent. I think highish levle pro bouts should always give 8 as much notice as possible.
Also this format favours the minority stance fighter in the tournament. If there are 7 orthodox and 1 southpaw for example then the southpaw will be doing good sparing for othodox but there opponent will have had to focus mainly on orthodox opponent sparing.

MTK Reveals More Names For Golden Contract Tournaments
Jazza Dickens has been confirmed as an addition to the Golden Contract tournament.
The concept, initiated by MTK Global, features tournaments in the featherweight, super-lightweight and light-heavyweight divisions.
Dickens is the IBF European champion at featherweight and also holds a number 11 ranking with the sanctioning body.
“There are two reasons why I wanted to be part of the Golden Contract tournament, Dickens, who joins WBO European champion Davey Oliver Joyce and WBO European champion at super-bantamweight, Tyrone McCullagh, said about the news. “I love to fight and show the world what I can do and I want to be a global name and become a world champion.
“It’s a massive opportunity to change my family’s lives. I will win the tournament because I’m dedicated, determined, motivated and hungrier than I’ve ever been.
“I’m looking forward to being the champion, and I hope everyone enjoys the massive the tournament.”
Dickens was last in action at the Eventim Olympia in Liverpool back in July, exclusively live on iFL TV in the UK and ESPN+ Stateside, when he successfully outpointed Australia’s Nathaniel May to win the aforementioned fringe IBF crown.
British champion Ryan Walsh, Commonwealth champion Leigh Wood and WBA number seven Hairon Socarras are also in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the super-lightweight and light-heavyweight tournaments are populated with stellar names.
Former WBC Silver champion Ohara Davies, who beat ex-world champion Miguel Vasquez last time out, and his long-time domestic rival Tyrone McKenna, who holds the WBC International belt, are both in the 140-pound bracket alongside former European champion Anthony Yigit, while the trio are joined by IBF European champion Akeem Ennis-Brown, ex-European and IBO champion Mohamed Mimoune and WBO Inter-Continental champion Zhankosh Turarov.
At light-heavyweight, ex-British champion Hosea Burton is joined by another former Lonsdale belt holder in the shape of Bob Ajisafe, who also held the Commonwealth crown, and former English champion Liam Conroy.
WBO European champion Steven Ward and former WBC International champion Serge Michel are also part of the competition at 175 pounds.
Three quarter-finals nights will take place in October and November, three semi-finals nights in February and March and the all-important finals will be staged in May and June.
Details regarding further additions to the tournaments will be revealed in due course.

Re: MTK Global unveil new ‘Golden Contract’ tournament
Eddie Hearn has heaped praise on MTK Global’s Golden Contract tournaments ahead of the launch later this year.
The Matchroom Boxing boss is excited about the three-division competition which features fighters in the featherweight, super-lightweight and light-heavyweight categories.
“I’ve seen some of the fighters announced and I love the concept. I like those domestic fights being made. It’s really good,” said Hearn, in an interview with iFL TV recently, when questioned about the idea. “I’m sure there are a lot of broadcasters interested but we’d like to try and do something and I’m interesting in hosting that on Sky.
“A few of our guys like Leigh Wood are in it, so I really like it.”

Re: MTK Global unveil new ‘Golden Contract’ tournament
I like the concept of this tournament and I think the one weeks notice for opponent will add to the unpredictability and favour the fighter who can adjust the best. The only caveat is that, similarly to the WBSS and other 'long format' tournaments there is the potential for the participants to be sidelined through injury and bouts to be postponed, but I do think it's an excellent idea offering the contract as a prize...

Re: MTK Global unveil new ‘Golden Contract’ tournament
The Golden Contract tournament will be shown live on Sky Sports

The Golden Contract, a ground-breaking new tournament organised by MTK Global, will be shown live on Sky Sports in association with Matchroom Boxing.
Current champions, unbeaten prospects, and enigmatic challengers have already confirmed their entry in The Golden Contract, which kicks off with the featherweight quarter-finals at London's iconic York Hall on October 4, live on Sky Sports.
Eight fighters will compete at featherweight, super-lightweight and light-heavyweight, with the three divisional winners earning a two-year, five-fight deal with six-figure purses for each fight guaranteed.
Adam Smith, Head of Sky Sports Boxing, said: "The Golden Contract is an exciting concept which has been created by MTK Global and we're really looking forward to showcasing the inaugural tournament live on Sky Sports.
"There are some familiar faces in the different weight classes, who always bring drama, high-octane fights and explosive knockouts, so you should expect an enthralling evening of action when the competition begins on October 4, and we really cannot wait for it.
"The Golden Contract is a welcome addition to our stacked Autumn as we bring you a bumper schedule of live boxing on Sky Sports."
Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn said: "It's a great format - quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. The winner comes out as a bit of a superstar and also goes straight into a major contract with a promoter as well.
"Get them in there, make the draw, no-one can duck anyone, no seeding. Go and beat them and run all the way to the final.
"More domestic shows coming to Sky Sports in the schedule, with all our Saturday night fight nights, big Box Office events as well, Matchroom Boxing USA international fight nights.
"It's non-stop! In fact, I believe there's boxing every week now from Devin Haney up until Christmas. Busy times ahead for UK fight fans."
MTK Global President Bob Yalen said: "We are hugely excited to have reached this deal with Eddie, Adam and their respective teams at Matchroom and Sky Sports. We look forward to working with them closely to bring this outstanding concept to the public.
"When three powerhouses unite to put their collective expertise and resources into making something great, you know they're going to succeed; so if they weren't already, everyone should be very, very excited about the Golden Contract Tournament and supporting their favourite boxers."
MTK Global Professional Development Coordinator Jamie Conlan said: "This is fantastic news for all parties concerned and a proud day for MTK Global.
"We're delighted to be working with two of the biggest companies in the game to bring the Golden Contract Tournament to the masses. We believe these events are going to be a huge hit with everyone who gets to see them both at the events themselves and on TV."
