Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell - 31 August 2019
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
I wonder what the odds are of this actually taking place ? Or Ruiz gets stripped of one of the belts or more and Joshua fights TBA at Wembley in front of his adoring fans and millions watching on PPV ?

Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
IBF won’t strip him. They said they will allow the fight. Winner has to fight Pulev by May 2020.
The only thing that will happen is Ruiz will not rematch AJ and get taken to court. God knows what’s on that contract but you can bet ur aśs Hearn has that thing down to EVERYTHING.
Apparently Ruiz has NO SAY on the venue.
If there was no rematch clause in the first fight contract, then Ruiz can act the big A-side man. But he isn’t.
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
If Ruiz refused to fight Hearn could sue him which would take a while.
In the meantime Ruiz could defend his belts and make a fortune.
Ruiz could also defuse the situation by giving up one of the belts so that TBA, maybe Price could fight AJ for the vacant belt.
Ruiz could then have a rematch on his own terms down the line.
With PBC behind him he could pretty much do what he likes.
If Ruiz really had no say in the rematch it would be in Cardiff.

Not sure it's that easy. And don't know why simply being with PBC = can just say f@ck it to contracts. Not like Hearn and DAZN are lightweights either

Who is Ruiz gonna fight where he can make $9m+?? Apart from AJ, Wilder, Fury?Coco wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 14:02 If Ruiz refused to fight Hearn could sue him which would take a while.

Unless he signs a huge contract with someone.

Also hanging on to the belt is a moneymaker, defences, endorsements etc
And look who Fury is fighting for the big bucks.
All heavyweight champs can generate a lot of money and this is very much the case in Mexico, look at Canelos popularity and earnings.

He signed the rematch clause, it's not simple as pie to just do whatever the hell he wants. Al Haymon isnt god.

He wouldn’t be allowed to fight in all likelihood with the court case looming - he’d end up stripped for not defending.Coco wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 14:02 If Ruiz refused to fight Hearn could sue him which would take a while.

As the contract is signed and legally binding to defend - he’ll end up losing the lot.

If he wins the rematch he’s killed it. Then do wtf you like. But he was over the moon with the initial contract according to Hearn. And I bet he was. Last min replacemebt, big bucks!Coco wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 14:41I was under the impression Hearn was giving him much less for the rematch?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 14:35

Compared to Takam who got only $1m to step in 7 days notice.
Thing with Fury is he’s signed a huge contract with ESPN.
Ruiz is more likely to stay with Haymon than to sign another deal with Arum/ESPN.

he’s only doing this to give Ruiz who has no say a neutral venue, that’s the kind of good guy he is, it has absolutely nothing to do with lining his own pockets.
What I really despise is the glossing over of what Saudi Arabia is and what it represents. It is a totalitarian monarchy that controls the most important Muslim sites on Earth. They represent Neo-Feudalism.
Events like this normalize and legitimize their despicable system.
UFC/WWE/Concerts etc.....they are all going there for the cash.
Someone else will go next after Matchroom because they’ll see the $$$$ and let them go 1st and take the flak.
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
He could always find a place to fight outside of the courts jurisdiction, Mexico for example!
The sanctioning bodies will be happy as long as they are paid.
I'm not saying he will do it, but with the money and power involved anything is possible.
Hearns piece of paper doesn't necessarily mean it will be peace for our time! #NevilleChamberlein

I understand that. I disagree with all of it. There are more important things than selling to the most vile / highest bidder. If you don’t take the money someone else will though ?

Some people have morals, just because others have been greedy pudenda, doesn’t mean they have to be, terrible business IMO, damages AJ’s rep in a huge way for a few extra quid, maybe it’s a cash out and Hearn thinks he’ll get smokes again?3132DW wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 15:14If you don’t take the money someone else will though ?ironbeard wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 13:26

It’s either Cash Out for AJ or something was wrong - and he thinks he wins easily this time.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 16:26Some people have morals, just because others have been greedy pudenda, doesn’t mean they have to be, terrible business IMO, damages AJ’s rep in a huge way for a few extra quid, maybe it’s a cash out and Hearn thinks he’ll get smokes again?
AJ makes decision to fight in SA - Hearn gives him the options/monies - he’s there to offer options and AJ Makes the call.
It’s nothing to do with Hearn making call - all down AJ.
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Then Qatar/Dubai and UAE all wanted the fight as well - They are all just as bad but portray themselves as more “Western” orientated.ironbeard wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 15:23I understand that. Same all over the World ain’t it - Russia/China etc....they are all as corrupt and as bad as Saudi Arabia.

Hearn is driving this big time. Watch any AJ interview and he often says he does what his team says. Hearn is the sharp businessman. Sure AJ signs it all off but he is subservient to the ambitions of Hearn who is pushing hard for control of the heavyweight division.

If you were Hearn you could have said to AJ and the team , listen Saudi isn’t a great place , let’s take a smaller purse ( but still multi millions ) and look elsewhere !
But given everyone involved is probably on a percentage I can’t imagine too many of Team AJ would have had a pair of balls or a conscience to suggest that !

Aye they are - everyone is as bent as they come be it death penalty/one family with 99% of wealth and everyone else potless.
Everyone equally as corrupt as Saudi Arabia - not that I’m saying that’s a great place but there is many places just as bad.
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Russia and China are not as bad. There are many places that are not as bad.

China executes more people than Saudi Arabia -they don’t even know how many as it’s a closed shop. Do you remember Tanks running over people in China ?
Look at Hong Kong with the Chinese - that’ll be next as troops get closer to the HK border.
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Of course there are more executions in China. It has 40 times the population of Saudi Arabia. China’s execution rate has been plummeting since the early 2000s. I am no fan of the Communist Party in China but it does not compare to the vile inbred totalitarian monarchy of Saudi Arabia.
