Ruddock, did you mistake one of them for a shemale?

Ruddock's legend seems to be based on better than expected efforts in losing to Tyson. I'm curious as to how he came to be so highly regarded without tangible wins over good opponents.

He's like Vitali if we take away Vitali's wins over anyone ranked in the top 10.

He hit harder than Vitali, but I agree with your general point. He got KO'd by Morrison FFS.

Vitali never beat anyone like dokes, Weaver or Smith. Then again, nobody thinks Ruddock is an atg. Vitali was supposed to fight him the night Byrd made him quit. Vitali surely would have won, even an old Ruddock would have been his best win.

I'd favor Ruiz in this matchup, because he is tough and durable enough to take Ruddock's best shots and Ruddock wasn't too special in his boxing skills, he was more dependant on his punching power. So Ruiz could get to Ruddock and KO him, as Ruddock's chin wasn't special as well.

You may be right. But, can Andy Ruiz, Jr take Razor Ruddock's best shots?

Those would have been good wins if he fought them in their primes but they were all well past it when Ruddock faced them. I don't think Smith and Dokes were even world class at that stage. Weaver may have been barely in the top 10 though clearly diminished.
