AJ: I was hit "by a lucky punch."
More AJ quotables. The more he talks ,the more I believe that Ruiz will crush him in the rematch. His is a very mentally fragile individual.
During his interview on AJ: The Untold Truth, an on-demand special on Sky Sports, Joshua explained how he lost to Ruiz.
"By a lucky punch. By a punch sent by the gods," Joshua said.
"I don't know what concussion is, but for sure, after the fight I didn't know what round [the fight was stopped]. So I'm just shocked it took Ruiz Jr another four rounds to get me out. Let me concuss Ruiz Jr - he won't get back up.
"Ruiz Jr got hit by a flash knock-down - he was still raw, he wasn't well-done, he wasn't cooked yet. I should have left him a little bit longer. But the instinct in me was: 'Boom!' I ended up getting caught with a left hook on the top of the head. He ain't that skilful. He's a good fighter."

Yay! More AJ quotes to circle jerk his demise to
What a pathetic, mentally weak, finished abomination of a fighter. He's a total loser now, done and dusted.

I don't know. Even if he beats Ruiz, I don't like excuses. Especially after he said all the right things at first. Maybe he's getting bad advice. Doesn't sound like he's full of confidence here. I had more respect just after his loss. Had he just shut his mouth and put his head down and trained properly, I might've been behind him. I'm smart enough to keep my options open.

You dont like excuses, but if it's an elbow, or not coming in at the right weight, then it's all legit and not LOL

Joshua's recent statements are pathetic. Probably something went wrong with him mentally. He won't be focused in the rematch, Ruiz will crush him again.

Someone needs to duct tape AJ’s mouth shut and lock him in a traditional boxing gym for at least 3 months.

Don't know how you can call it a lucky punch, when you're dropped and beaten up in multiple rounds from a variety of shots. That just sounds stupid no matter how you slice it.
I get the feeling AJ is gonna be transitioning to a more defense minded approach. He'll need to against Ruiz for sure, but I wouldn't doubt he'll be more cautious going forward for a while.
I don't think he has the overall skill or experience to become like Wlad in his post-Brewster form, but I get the feeling he might try that. It might work for him to a degree, but not the way it did for Wlad because he's not Wlad, and he's not as skilled or as fluid with his movement.

If Wlad had TFKoB’s beard, he would be HW champion to this day.gilgamesh wrote: ↑17 Aug 2019, 16:10 Don't know how you can call it a lucky punch, when you're dropped and beaten up in multiple rounds from a variety of shots. That just sounds stupid no matter how you slice it.

Ruiz doesn't strike me as a guy who can't be stopped.ironbeard wrote: ↑17 Aug 2019, 16:20If Wlad had TFKoB’s beard, he would be HW champion to this day.gilgamesh wrote: ↑17 Aug 2019, 16:10 Don't know how you can call it a lucky punch, when you're dropped and beaten up in multiple rounds from a variety of shots.
