He’d whup Joshua, Fury and Wilder over one weekend. Not a single problem with any of them
I can't find one single actual quote by lewis that was out of line.

It's gotten worse. Can't fathom what is going on in his head.
He's been beaten now and is probably embarrassed. That can make thin skin even thinner.

Very very true. Losing (especially in the manner with which he lost) would feed into that fragility.

Lewis v Joshua would just have been the Michael Grant fight all over again.

The only thing I take away from it all is how the rematch will unfold. I don't like all the interviewing and statements that AJ is engaging in. He should be in the gym sparring and training for his fight. Why he cares so much is baffling.

True - but nobody has actually said what he is supposed to have said that was negative or disrespectful or whatever.

Exactly this.

I get people aren't necessarily interested in the drama that surrounds the politics of the sport, but I'm surprised this has seemingly slipped by so many of the above posters. It was almost happening on a bi-weekly basis at one point, given how often Lewis was just saying negative stuff in the press. At first it was like Lewis is an ATG, he can say his piece, then it was like again and again and again...

A lot of it seems to do with slamming Joshua for not giving into PBC demands on the Wilder fight. Then each time Joshua's team seemingly went beyond Lewis' evaluation of what was a reasonable pay day for Wilder in order to get the fight made, Lewis would move the goal posts in support of whatever new and ever-growing financial demands Wilder's team made. Each time Lewis would be there putting his oar in, solely blaming Joshua for the fight not getting made.

Then when Wilder rejected that massive financial offer from DAZN - which left most fans scratching their head - it was radio silence from Lewis.
Just curious. What did Lewis say about AJ that was 'insulting' and untrue? No one here is quoting anything.
OK, well there is way too much, as it's been going on ages, but here is a quick one

Lewis told Compubox TV: "He doesn't want any of those guys [Wilder or Fury]. When he saw that fight, he was like, 'Wow these guys can box'.

"I think Wilder and Fury should have a rematch, Joshua can wait. I don't think he'll come over [to the United States] right now.

"I think he's too happy in England being protected, and boxing in front of the British crowd."

That last part can't be read as anything other than a cheap shot, I just don't get why he would word it like that even if he believes it to be true.

I mean, even Hassim Rahman came out about 6 months ago and said Lewis is too critical of Joshua, and suggested he should be encouraging his countryman instead

The bolded quote seems pretty accurate to me. Remember first AJ said he wanted the Ruiz rematch at MSG to right the wrong. Then he said he wanted it in the uk with 70,000 fans behind him. Not sure, but I remember Lennox saying some very postitive things about AJ too.

I should have said that quote is from December 2018

I'm sure he has said some good stuff too, but I think Hassim Rahman has made my point for me.

If you want more there is a YouTube channel that was always talking about it every time this stuff happened. Honestly I stopped watching videos on the topic it was so frequent. Type into YouTube:

CounterPunch Boxing News Lennox Lewis

There are a lot of videos.
That channel is fairly pro-joshua, but just the sheer volume of stuff related to Lewis tells its own story.

I haven't found an impartial channel on YouTube for boxing except Rummy Corner and Boxing Squared, but they don't get into that kind of stuff, thankfully. As I said, I'm more concerned as to why AJ gives a hoot. He has more important things to be concerned about. Not sure what your reference to Rahman was. Lennox got his revenge on his only two losses, one in fine fashion, the other in the strangest thing in a boxing ring I've ever seen!!! LOL!

Tbh I’ve never warmed to Joshua been gifted everything but I’d rather see a honest and angry AJ than media AJ
That I can agree with. He'd be better off for it too!

I want to hear Lennox himself. Just like I would want to hear AJ himself. But thanks just the same for digging around for this and from a channel I like! :TU:

Lennox has been passive aggressively digging at AJ for quite a while now. AJ has responded without much fuss a few times before, but it seems this time he lost his cool about it. Lewis is now officially on team PBC so I wouldn't expect him to be fair and balanced anymore, just like I don't expect that out of Johnny Nelson etc

Last time Lewis worked he was literally shoulder to shoulder with Wilder all night and joking with him

I think he's got an agenda, in part due to being on the PBC payroll, just like the guys on SKY do towards Matchroom fighters. He literally sits shoulder to shoulder with Wilder at work, that type of situation is bound to promote bias.

For a while now even before AJ lost Lewis seemed a bit negative towards AJ. Not sure what it was about, but I would say it was defo a negative tone and a lot of criticism, even if some was fair.

It's Lewis' job to opine. AJ shouldn't be giving it any of his time. It shouldn't make a difference to him and it concerns me that it does. AJ is either a dumbass or extremely sensitive, or a bit-of-both.

I doubt AJ is going out there and phoning up the media to get this stuff in the pressed, he is probably being asked about it and just gives his opinion too---he's allowed to do that as well.

And let's be honest, you're loving this stuff from AJ

I'm not actually. I think AJ is taking the wrong tact here, but he just can't help himself. He can answer with a non-comment and stick to discussions around his next fight. I wanted and still want to see AJ vs Wilder, but I'm not certain we'll ever see that now. AJ has to pull himself together or he'll get sparked by Ruiz again.

To be fair, Lennox was brutal on Wilder after the Fury fight that night. Said Wilder fought a terrible fight and he had Fury winning. Yet, you didn't hear Wilder call him a clown.

Thats because Wilder has respect for Lewis,AJ is full of sh1t tbh and cant be taking things too personal,Lewis is a former world champion and is a commentator so he will get asked questions about a heavyweight fighter and he is an honest guy too so he wont butter AJ up and thats what AJ dont like,he has too many people around him suckin his schlong and telling him how great he is so when someone says a negative comment about him he gets all butt hurt
