Dave Allen return
Re: Dave Allen return
Not seen his fight vs Price yet but I'm hoping he's taking a softer opponent as a farewell fight - heard he took a hellacious betaing.
Re: Dave Allen return
Yes he took a decent beating. He will almost certainly be fighting a easier opponent so im just messaging my mate to see if hes been offered a fight.
Re: Dave Allen return
Tom Schwarz would be a good choise :)
Re: Dave Allen return
I hope he faces a British challenger rather than going to the weaker opposition over in Poland etc.
Kamil Sokolowski, Daniel Dubois (who would be a tough to beat), Fabio Wardley, Mark Bennett, or Alex Dickinson would be good choices. I dont think Bennett will be fighting as it looks like there is going to be an Ultimate Boxer coming up so I think he will be wanting that instead.

Re: Dave Allen return
Good needs to stay busy, and keep improving.
Re: Dave Allen return
Wouldn’t let him anywhere near Sokolowski and Dubois would really damage him, don’t know the other guys but if they’re any good I’d steer clear, Allen needs dropping back down in levels if only for his own safety.MasterG wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019, 08:46 I hope he faces a British challenger rather than going to the weaker opposition over in Poland etc.

Tom Little?
Re: Dave Allen return
That’s who I was thinking of - Eddie likes him and Dave gets his win on comeback.

Meh, who cares. A guy that gets far too much coverage relative to his actual ability.

Re: Dave Allen return
I wouldnt mind Safety Pin Johnson, its just what Allen needs at the minute, he needs to brush up on his boxing skills its fair to say, assuming the Price beating hasn't took too much out of him he shouldn't be in much danger of being stopped and Johnson would give him much needed rounds to work on some technical things, he's kept in shape and sounds in good spirits from what ive seen, made no excuses, accepts he was well beat so i'd like to see him try box to a 12 round plan, it'll be vital experience if he's to ever win a British or Commonwealth title, the last thing he needs is the another war with Bracamonte which I heard mentioned, daft fight that
The Johnson fight would be diaboloical to watch of course

Re: Dave Allen return
Oh man!
That fight should only take place in a closed door gym.
I do agree Allen could use the opportunity to brush up against a solid foundation like King Pin, but no way do I want to watch that.
Tom Little is a good shout.

Stick them on first at 5.30pm, nobody will see it
And yes Allen would do some learning and get in some rounds.
Give Johnson 3 days notice for a 10 rounder and if he does too well in the first hall he will be bound to fade down the home stretch

Re: Dave Allen return
Did anything ever come out of Dave Allen’s comments regarding his health deteriorating over the last 12 months?
He’s a popular fighter to the casuals. He got massive cheers at the 02 when he was put on the screen walking in to the arena and then people where going mental on his ring walk.
Eddie imo doesn’t have too many fighters with a following so needs to milk the ones he has.

Re: Dave Allen return
Well, was it true that he collapsed after taking a beating just last month? And that he's been having significant health problems, or was that all nonsense?
If it was true, then I wish particular luck on Dave Allen's brain. I'm not really sure I'd be glad to see him back TBH

weaker or not, i have a Polish candidate with whom he could give an entertaining fight - Łukasz Różański (limited brawler who defeated Ugonoh)MasterG wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019, 08:46 I hope he faces a British challenger rather than going to the weaker opposition over in Poland etc.

If you watch his interview yesterday he’s passed all scans/brain scans and the hospital have to clear him to fight again.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019, 17:22 Well, was it true that he collapsed after taking a beating just last month? He was unwell before Price fight - so he’s to see the board before he’s OK to go again - think that was relating to his eyes.
They asked why he fought Price - and he answered couple of hundred reasons why....so from that he got £200,000 to fight Price and went anyway.

Re: Dave Allen return
Sounds good for a return then, though still I must say, he's only in his 20s yet he's collapsing after last fight, ongoing headaches, vision problems, and a style where he's taken loads of flush shots from big punchers and other opponents. I dunno how many more beatings he should be taking before that's a wrap on his career, even if the fans do love him.
