Hughie Fury vs Audley Harrison

Post by overhand_right »

No, don't worry, this hasn't been announced. But I am genuinely interested to learn who Boxrec thinks would come out on top in a fight between these two notoriously negative British heavyweights.

Can't help but think of the 'Alien Vs Predator' tag-line: "Whoever wins... we lose."

Most any fight against a pillow fisted fighter would bode well for Audley.

Audley was an interesting dude. He was a good fighter in many ways, he just didn’t respond well to getting hit. As for selling a fight - he was second to none.

I've got Audley winning as he wouldn't have to worry about what was coming back at him which is what always what caused him to fight negatively.

Depends which Audley turns up.

Speaking of whom. Does anyone know how he's doing. I know he had brain injuries, I hope the big lumps ok.

I wish he was used as a pundit, his analysis is great.

Definitely, BT should get him on, because the matchroom casuals over on sky have no clue and are idiots.

I read he lives in America with his wife and a couple of kids (not sure what he does for a job).

It said he does some sports coaching of local kids (just as a dad type of thing) but I can imagine a load of 7 year olds going home shouting “I believe” and feeling 10 foot tall as if they could achieve anything!

I think his wife is wealthy and runs a successful beauty salon or similar, in California or Nevada.

A guy scared to throw vs a guy who can't throw without bouncing 6 feet backwards before his punches even get in range

Ya, would be a great fight :o

Good luck to him. If anyone was daft enough to think that was gonna be competitive, they deserved to lose their money lol

I think both being in such close vicinity of each other would cause the formation of a black hole.

Audley was horrid for british boxing. It would have been better for the sport if he never boxed. I'm not sure why he is regarded fondly.

Cos he's a nice guy. It's little to do with his in the ring exploits. ( tho I personally enjoyed his come from behind win vs sprott and prizefighter wins).

Audley harrison was and still is a total joke fighter

I saw him in a shopping centre in 2001 surrounded by a lot of ass lickin hanger on types all gobbing off about world championships etc and then for the next 4/5 years he only fights journeymen .

Me grannys handbag would spark him ! :box:

Hughie would just outwork him. Audley’s punch output was woeful.

I just hope Hughie doesn't get on any big bills. I'm not going to sit through his fights and he adds nothing to a card.
