It would have been fooking easy to weigh him, unless his team are a bunch of spakkers. The guy tried to cheat again, that's about the long and short of it, he was going to use Corrales' willingness to fight against Diego and put him at massive risk of damage.
Castillo is a cheating little smeg. I'll not be watching his fights again.
Castillo's been in some of the best fights ever seen. Jauregei 1 and 2, Julio Alvarez, S Johnston II, Corrales I. shit, up to that point the only cheating was done by Corrales. if that hadn't happened - & there's no way Corrales would've won without cheating - Castillo would've been fighting for 140-lb titles by now
I will be watching him again - at light welter
if Castillo took those extra pounds off, he could've risked a flat James Toney on a drip style performance at best, or at worst, risked serious injury. in the lighter weights it does happen, i.e. Duk Koo-Kim and Jimmy Garcia were messed up with weight, that guys get killed.
the extent to which he was drained this week - looking at pics and reports - it seems his body simply cannot lose any more. i reckon he tried to make weight, realize dhe couldn't, and failed to make weight, and simply couldn't fight. i seriously doubt he planned to cheat, knowing that he'd be fined anyway, that Corrales wouldn't take the fight,
nowadays ppl go on about toney beaing a natural heavyweight / cruiserweight. well, will castillo's frame and appearances as high as 150, i'm inclined to believe he just cannot stretch his body so far out of shape any more.
