Joe Joyce calls out Povetkin

Post by oogiebe »

Well it didn't take long for someone to call out Pov after his performance vs Hughie.

Joe Joyce tweeted out, "I want Povetkin." not too long after the fight yesterday. Based on his performance against Fury, I'd advise Pov to steer clear of Joyce at this point.

I'd like to see Joyce vs Povetkin. Povetkin is getting a lot of attention in the U.K. the last few years.

Good fight. A limited fighter vs a shot fighter.

Sounds like it'd be right up Tyson's alley.

He's got his dance card filled out for the time being though. It'd be next Summer at least before Tyson Fury vs Povetkin could happen.

I wouldn't mind that fight.
Joyce would have his chin checked at least.
And it would be a lot more watchable than Hughie Fury.

Yeah it'd probably be a slugfest. You know Joyce is gonna be aggressive, and Povetkin won't exactly be running so it'd be a good action scrap while it lasted.

This fight actually makes a lot of sense. I heard that Joyce looked bad in his last bout. So maybe a young, strong, physically superior Joyce won't have an easy time against an old, slow, faded but still strong and tricky Povetkin.

Pov made be faded, but imagine how quick he'll look vs Slo-Joe. :OhYes:

 yeah, but highly watchable.
Joyce needs to prove himself promptly. No time like the present.

Problem for Joyce is the vast majority of the HW are on Matchroom/Dazn deals - even Povetkin they had the option on as well as they are doing a lot with World of Boxing.

Povetkin will defeat him, i also suppose that Povetkin will be better prepared, he looked so flabby vs HF

Povetkin was struggling against hughie. Even he threw lot of punchs, his punches had no affect. A Drug free Povetkin is nothing more than a top 20 fighter only.

He's 40 years old FFS.

Still he'll whoop Joyce.

still, nobody won wider vs Hughie than Povetkin and it was his 3rd top 10 opponent.

Get the check book out Frankie. I would love to see this fight and it's probly Joyce's best shot and solidifying himself top 10, cause pov is long past prime but still a win over him would be a good win and move Joyce up with fans, boxrec and governing body rankings.
