Campbell gave Loma his second toughest fight.

Post by victor-romeo »

Loma's toughest fights in order:

1-Linares
2-Campbell
3-Salido

Best wins

1-Linares
2-Gary Russell Jr
3-Rigondeux

I knew Campell was going to be a tough fight mostly due to his size followed by his skill set. I didn't anticipate the south paw aspect would be puzzle for Loma but it was.

Loma fought great showed gritty side of himself after being hurt in 7th round and coming back to hurt Campbell at end of round..

Great Loma fight..

Every Loma fight is a Historical fight...by a Historical fighter..

How are two fights Loma won tougher than the one he lost? :-?

Loma was never really hurt by Salido except below the belt and was on his way to KO'ing Salido near the end of the fight. Linares and Campbell hurt Loma and actually made Loma work harder..

Campbell and Linares had Loma buzzed enough that two or 3 more punches make Lomas wheels compltely come off, Salido never had Loma in that zone..

Yes it was close, but as his only loss, you have to say it was his toughest fight. C'mon man. Salido roughed him up.

I don't rate Rigo very highly as a win. He was 2 weight classes over his natural weight, not to mention 37 years old and years past his last meaningful win.

So what? I hope anyone with half a brain didn't bet on Campbell. (Lininares leftover)

Salido was hands down Lomas toughest fight.

I concur. And I've watched thousands of fights. That ref allowed Salido (translates to dirty something) to hold and hit low. I still had Loma winning that anyway because Salido was mostly ineffective punching arms, legs, hip, back, groin, gloves, air, back of the head , and doing plenty of tugging and holding. Apparently if your a Latino in San Antonio those punches count as connects.

I agree that it was Lomassiah’s second toughest fight, right behind the Salido fight.

Cambell’s Length, pop and skill level made it very competitive.

I mean, you have to make a choice whether you're going to consider testicle punches part of what makes a fight rough. Just considering legal tactics, these recent fights might have been as rough for him as the Salido one.

I thought Linares was a more gruelling fight for him than Campbell, and then of course Salido was the toughest.

Campbell did very well and was game but Loma could have won at any point he chose.

Loma is the greatest boxer that ever donned gloves, Ali included.

Salido fight obviously was the toughest. Campbell is the 2nd? Really? He was surviving for the majority of the fight. Linares is the second, which is pretty obvious too.

Salido fight was the most disappointing showing an absolute helplessness of a boxer against unprofessionalism(?) of the officials...

That night Loma was fighting vs Salido, the ref and the judges at the same time. I'd say, he actually won Salido.

A little too soon to say that. This is how fighters get overhyped. I’m still not sure he beats Mikey Garcia.

He also didn't have experience in 12 round fights, so he started too slow and upped his workrate too late.

I'd disagree with Linares hurting Loma. I think he just got his feet in the wrong spot and got timed in a way that he fell. Didn't seem hurt by it at all.
I think salido was a much harder fight for him. Than Linares. Camblel was definately one of his harder fights though for sure.

It terms of hurting Loma I switch Linares' and Salido's places. Linares hurt Loma the most ever and not with the knockdown, but when he wobbled him in a some of the later rounds. And Campbell didn't really hurt Loma at all.

During the last :58 seconds of the 7th round Loma was stunned by Campbell and came back and stunned Campbell that was view into the fighting non technical side of Loma..

I won't say, that Loma ever was particulary stunned by Campbell. Of course, Campbell landed some noticeable shots, but I wouldn't name any of those much damaging. The fight overall looked quite one-sided. I'm surprised with a lot of people praising Campbell's performance that much. Anyway I'm not telling, that Campbell sucked. Luke should be given credit for his toughness.

The part in the 7th round where people say Campbell hurt Loma, I'm not really sure about that, it seemed to me that Loma just got off balance for a bit. It's not really a hurt reaction to have unsteady feet from a body shot. Loma came right back and looked fine and clearly then hurt Campbell the same round.
