Povetkin calls out Tyson Fury

Post by ValMar »

I don't think TF will accept this fight right now, but I think it would be an easy UD victory for Tyson. What do you think ?

I think it all depends on if Ruiz beats Joshua. If Ruiz wins, I think he'd take the fight Vs Povetkin and fight the winner of Wilder Vs Ruiz for the undisputed.

Yeah now TF would win by UD or late stoppage maybe. Povetkin is still good but TF is all wrong for him.

The Gypsy King is too much for Povetkin. Fury will school him from the distance and overpower inside, if Povetkin manages to get there.

I like the Fury - Povetkin match-up. Fury's recent resume doesn't reflect very great wins since the Klitschko fight. Povetkin is basically the best opponent that Fury can safely beat right now, so it's a great stepping stone before he moves back into contention against the other top 4 heavyweights.

It seems that the Fury family matchmaking is pretty ballsy, so it could totally happen. Tyson has already fought Klitschko and Wilder. Hughie has already fought Pulev, Povetkin, and Parker. I don't think they're afraid of taking risks.

Yeah so very ballsy. I mean Seferi, Pianeta, Scwartz, Wallin... dangerous, dangerous fights. I mean, taking such risks when a Wilder fight is looming takes some balls

And I don't know how closely you're falling boxing but Hughie taking risks doesn't relate to Tyson whatsoever. Tyson has spoken to Hughie or his dad Peter (Fury's old trainer) for about 3 years. His family has no input in his matchmaking. Arum/Warren do

I get the feeling this may wind up being Fury's follow up fight to Wilder, regardless of whether he wins or loses against Wilder.

I still want Povetkin/Pulev/Ortiz to face off. After Ortiz and Pulev have lost their upcoming title shots none of the three of them will really have anything left to fight for in terms of gold. There would still be good money in facing each other.

I'd actually prefer these fights over them facing the younger guys.

right on! fury has to prepare for wilder 2. to be top of the world, or to be flattened like a pancake!
still povetkin is still in the mix, in case wilder fights ruiz, for example. i guess fury would decision him & master him.

Povetkin should try calling T. Fury's agent if he wants a fight.

Tyson Fury has bigger fish to fry than Alexander Povetkin. And if the Russian veteran and ‘The Gyspy King’ were ever to square-off inside the boxing ring, then it’d be an easy one-sided victory for the giant Brit.
